Help, I cannot get through the fog maze. I have been trying for two weeks, does anyone have a save game right after the maze.
Thanks

I sure can relate to that announcement. I was having a great time with MJ2 until I hit the fog maze. I haven't played the game in awhile now. (Finished Uru first) But now I am back..and as klutzy as ever.

There must be a strategy I am not getting. What I have been doing is walking under the maze..trying to mark how far and then giving it a go using my map. But I always fall off. Its hard to see how far you've gone.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

If not..um..can I have that saved game too?

Susan,

Make your map complete.
The way I did it is to make my map based on the lamp posts that surrounds the perimeter. Then I follow the map and position my self by looking at the lamps in front and back. This assures me that I am at the center of the square I am suppose to be.

Also, to get an easier maze - walk the maze, fall off, walk the maze, fall off, etc... Look up, check to see if the maze is easier, map it, save the game and then walk the maze using the lamp posts as guides. Good luck!

You can also match the sounds of your steps to the two types of materials in the maze. If you make a note on your map as to which tiles are which material (they alternate) you can doublecheck yourself with the sounds as you walk.

Congratulations, Salar of Myst! I had a lot of trouble with this puzzle too, and set the game aside for a couple of months. But when I finally sat down and really worked on it, I got it in about twenty minutes. It's soooo satisfying to do it yourself. One thing that helps is that (unlike a lot of puzzles of this sort) you can save your game as you go along, so you don't lose any hard won progress.

Hi Whistler,
What I did was go under the fog and look up at the tiles and I followed the tiles by clicking the mouse and writing down how many clicks they were before turning,I looked up and clicked 3 times and saw that it was time to turn right so I wrote it down. For example starting the maze on top of the fog I clicked 3-4 times then turned right then clicked the mouse another 3-4 times or whatever the counts were and turned again following the path, I saved the first puzzle so I would'nt have a different path if I fell, It took a couple of hours but I got thru it this way, try it and keep at it, eventually it will work. Hope this works. smile

Good for you, Leeana! This puzzle is very satisfying if you stick with it. It is do-able. Even clumsy Annie managed it. Just remember you can save during the puzzle to preserve each little bit of progress you make.

Leeana's right on with that. That's how I got through it. It may also be helpful to note that there are two distinct sounds, one for each of the two types of tiles. laugh

If you need a map to help plot your maze you can find one HERE

BillyBob, that's How DaDungeon did it.

Built up the ole grid map . . .
using the vertical uprights as markers . . .

fall by fall . . .
looking up and adding the next section when I did . . .
then matched the sound of my foot stepping on either a slate or a mesh tile . . .
to keep my place on the map . . .
as I walked the fog.

You oughta see the page I eventually came up with!
Talk about yer annotated drawings!

+) . . . errr, =)

DaDungeon,
