Hi everyone. I just bought Dragon Age Inquisition and recently also bought a new laptop. Unfortunately, I didn't check out the specs of either before buying them, and so I'm not sure if my computer CAN run this game. It seemed to install last night but I could never get it to actually begin after clicking on the New Game button. Today, nothing at all happens when I click the Origins icon, or the Dragon Age Inquisition icon, and so I'm totally puzzled. frown

I got my specs from Belarc, and so I'd really appreciate it if some kind soul would take a look at them and let me know if this laptop can run the game or if I'm out of my league. smile

Thanks SO much in advance,
Tracy (who someday will learn to wait when buying games and/or computers and make sure they are compatible!)

I'm hardly an expert, but it looks like you have an integrated graphics card and that might well be the problem here. For graphics-intensive games like Witcher 3 and Dragon Age: Inquisition, you need a graphics card with dedicated memory.

I honestly wouldn't recommend an integrated graphics card even if all you were playing was Nancy Drew and Big Fish games - they just aren't any good for gaming (unless you were only interested in card games).

frown Thanks, Marian. Darn it! I forgot about that. sigh....

Do you (or any other Boomers) know anything about games like this on PlayStation 4? That might be another option for me to try, but I haven't played RPGs like this on a console before, so I would love to get more info if anyone has experience w/ this. smile

Thanks again, guys,
Tracy

To check out prices for really good gaming laptops, look here (just to give you an idea). You could get a good desktop for gaming that would cost less than that.

Dragon Age: Inquisition and the Witcher 3 would run great on a Playstation 4; you would need to be comfortable with a game controller, though, rather than a keyboard and mouse.

Thanks so much for the info, Marian! Guess I have some thinking to do about getting another new PC versus a PS4. I did play console games a lot when the PS 1 and PS2 were out, so think I'd be ok with using the controller, but I have gotten used to playing big RPGS like Skyrim and stuff on a PC. Hmmmm.

Anyway! Thanks again for your help-glad you guys are here. smile

RPGs where the characters are using swords and other melee weapons work fine on consoles. If they are using guns, it is harder to aim, but I have played and enjoyed them on the PS3.

Thanks, Pokey. I was wondering about the swordplay and stuff, so that's great to hear. smile
