What type and brand of mouse are you using Geo?
Personally, I use optical or laser gaming mice and clean mine with a little isopropyl alcohol on a cotton flour sack cloth. The optical element is recessed on the ones I use, so aren't impacted by wiping off the bottom of the mouse.
I feel a lot more like I do now, then when I first got here

My mouse is absolutely ancient. A Microsoft Intellimouse from 1998 !! [And a I have another two in my "spares" cupboard, in case of breakdowns ] So it's easy to keep the outside of it clean. I just use a damp cloth all over - except for the little roller ball underneath.

Optical is just amazing after using the old slow mechanical roller balls.

I tried to use my grandson's trackball, but my brain simply refused to cooperate! I only have a 9" x 10" space for my mouse next to my keyboard. Not much, but I guess I'm used to it.

Mad,you must go optical. The difference is great. I've tried other mouse types, Geo, including one or two Opticals, but I didn't like them. They felt too "bulky" I like my ancient little mouse. And it does everything I need a mouse to do
