I'm sorry Darleen but I really don't have a solution for you.
Problems like yours may be one reason the game is now free.

"Sticky cursor" usually means the video card is too slow, or sometimes that the processor is too slow.

But with this game the problem is probably something else.
My guess is that it's related to the Adobe AIR game engine.

Most listed system requirements I've found for this game simply state "Fulfillment of the Adobe AIR System Requirements" and the requirements for Adobe AIR (from the ***Adobe website***) are:

Quote:
  • 2.33GHz or faster x86-compatible processor or Intel Atom™ 1.6GHz or faster processor
  • Microsoft® Windows® XP, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista® Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise (including 64 bit editions) with Service Pack 2, Windows 7, or Windows 8 Classic
  • 512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)

I think it's possible that an antivirus could be scanning the game while it's running and slowing it down. Maybe "Adobe Air" is considered a security risk by antivirus (according to ***Wikipedia*** Adobe Air uses Adobe Flash, which is now considered to be a security risk).

But if your computer is close to the 2.33 GHz minimum processor requirement, your "sticky cursor" may be considered "acceptable" (depending on how bad it is).

According to Adobe you can uninstall it through Control Panel
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/build/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d118666ade46-7fed.html

I'm surprised that the game installer didn't prompt you to install it.
