Well, I just finished off that green mouthed but blind old monster and that finishes the game but really I felt so bad for him it kinda took away the joy of winning a boss battle. I'm going to replay and on a difficult level and maybe I'll skip the last part. He was chained up and all that too -time will heal.

There might be a new Wolfenstein game soon -can't wait

I can't say I've ever finished a game with a boss battle where I felt sorry for the bad guy. But the way you describe the blind old monster makes me feel sorry for him and I haven't even played the game!

When I first started playing the Wolfenstein games I wasn't sure if I would like them because I've never been a big fan of war games. The odd infusion of fiction and the occult changed my mind pretty quick, that's why Wolfenstein: The New Order made it on my Dark Side list this year. Difficult, but fun and well written games.

Yup, I've played new order 2-3 times and love it. War, shooters are my forte because it's so much fun to shoot and run/hide and gettem again. Am replaying old blood on normal and difficult but not uber and got through 1st chapter -amazing how much we miss 1st time play. I might have all the gold -yippee.

However Killzone 2 is my favorite and probably always will be.

Those interested in the Wolfenstein games might want to take a look at The History of Wolfenstein

I thought it was a very interesting video.

Thanks Oldman! That was an awesome retrospective of the series.

It's funny if I'm asked when I started computer gaming I usually mention the time I spent back on my Commodore64, but I tend to forget the hours and hours I spent in the arcade as a kid.

Anyone remember the original Tank Battle? It was nothing but a long war torn landscape with pictures of tanks on a plastic or celluloid scroll that had translucent areas in the tank image. Your cannon/gun had a light bulb at the end of it that lit up when you pulled the trigger. As the plastic scroll wound by and the tanks "came in range" the translucent area would uncover a photo sensor that was in line with your crosshair site and the bulb at the end of the gun. If you scored a hit there was a crazy analog recording of an explosion and big red light bulbs at the top of the game would flash. When you were done the plastic scroll and sound effects tape would rewind with this crazy audible grinding sound. It doesn't get much more old school than that. lol
