I haven't played the game yet but it looks like it might be cute and it's available today on Game Giveaway of the Day.

Good game. No HOGS that I recall. Clever and funny. I think this was a Marian recommendation. If you prefer straight point and click, and you don't have this one, snap it up. In light of the ill considered amounts of dough I have wasted on dreadful games, the prospect of someone getting a good one for free makes me happy for players with the self-control to wait for giveaways and sales.

Now I remember what was such a stand out feature. I was given the option to skip HOGs.

Well, I am stuck. I cannot find a piece of paper to redraw the missing piece of map so I can move on to Dern. At least I guess that's what I'm supposed to be doing. I have no inventory items left. Only scissors and pencil gizmo things. Can anybody help?

Apart from looking at the Evil Pumpkin forum on Big Fish and the Steam forum for the game, I can't find any written walkthroughs (which is not to say that there aren't any - it's been a long day!). There is also a YouTube Walkthrough.

If none of this helps, hopefully someone else will be able to advise you.

Thanks Marian. I have been to both of those forums and while I didn't read everything it appears there may be some issues if you do something out of order. I do hope that is not the case as I've already played close to 4 hours and am still in the beginning part of the game apparently. I really don't want to have to start over and especially since I don't know what I may have done wrong. I did not see anybody stuck where I am stuck. Very likely I am just not seeing something. That's usually my problem. I'm getting ready to look at some Let's Play videos on Steam.

I watched 7 videos, almost 2 hours. Early on I saw something that I thought maybe was it but I didn't think it enough to go try it. It wasn't until the 7th video that I saw it again and was sure it was right but still kept watching until it was confirmed. Pretty clever puzzle. Quit watching in time to not spoil anything else. Wish I would have looked at it earlier though when it first occurred to me.

Anyway, moving on for now!

Edit: Actually, I don't know what's wrong with me. The game has a good hint system. I haven't used it yet but the guy in the video w/t used it a lot. If after resting, I am still stuck, I will just use a hint!

I know it feels kind of like admitting defeat to look at hints, but unless someone comes along who has played this game, that might be what you have to do.

Unfortunately I was not able to figure it out even with the hints. I am doing what I'm supposed to be doing but it is not working, so I guess it's back to the forums and videos.

ARGHH!! My poor tired eyes were reading O when it was Q so I was dialing the wrong number all those times. I had found a couple of people stuck with the puzzle but they just didn't know where to look to turn the letters into numbers. I did, but looked at them wrong. This came to me this morning while I was getting ready for work and was just now able to check it out and confirm my mistake.

Moving onward again.

I thought I could spend a few hours playing this game on Halloween. Boy, was I wrong. Steam has me clocked at 36 hours. I have myself clocked at 27 hours. That is longer than I spend on a lot of regular adventure games. I have finally finished it with the help of forums and video walkthroughs and some hints.

I can't say whether I would recommend the game or not. There wasn't much story and some of the puzzles were solved by just trying all my inventory items out and then saying "huh?". Unfortunately I required help on the last puzzle and then the game ended kind of abruptly, but I'm glad I played it because I found it different.
