Greetings...
I have begun AURYN QUEST...
I have collected two energy balls so far,but
more importantly I have hit on several check-
points which are 'saved' games...I began the
game today and lo and behold I am bounced back to
the beginning...
Can someone PLEASE tell me how to get back to my
last 'saved' game? Much obliged...SOLVER

Hi,

You will always start where the last save was.
You can not save where ever you want in this game, sorry to say.

So you will have to do a whole section from the save to the next save point.

Solver -- as VHLMagic says, there are no saved games in the traditional sense. The blue pulsar "save" points in the game only save your progress as long as you stay in that level. Whenever you exit the level, you lose all the progress, including the energy balls.

The only way to not have to return to the level is to collect ALL 10 energy balls in that level, and then use the transporter device in that level to transport to the next level. After that, the game recognizes that you've acquired and kept all 10 energy balls in that level, and you never have to return (unless you want to, of course).

If you get to the point where you're interested, we've written a walkthrough for this game.

I truly understand the concept of this game...
The energy balls, the levels and the checkpoints..
My problem is that I am in the first 'world'and
I have gotten past the 'floating' slabs and I'm
dying on the spinning rocks...but when I shut the
game down and return later, I don't return to my
last checkpoint, instead I go back to the very
begining...
Must I play this game in one sitting? SOLVER

I haven't gotten past that point myself, Solver, but I would suggest that since it's very early in the game, you haven't yet hit one of the "save" points that VHLMagic and Becky were talking about...

I'm not sure that Willie's problem is the same as yours, Solver. If you check my reply to him, since he has five balls, he should be able to move on to the next level...

Ms.Jenny...
I have just read Becky's walkthrough and I think
she has solved my dilemma...
I must capture at least five energy balls in one
gameplay session or I get bounced back to square
one the next time I start the game...
Ten would be better but five is the minimum...
Thank you for your patience...SOLVER

Hi Solver ..let me try to 'splain it to ya.. smile You CAN move on to the next level by getting 5 energy balls, but..that won't complete that first level and the next time you play the first level, it will start out at 0 power balls again. The game does save at different points, but if you stop playing before getting the 10 balls, you loose them and have to start over next time. So...you can get 5 and move on to the next level but at the last world..you "have" to have "solved" each level [got all 10 balls in each level] to be able to do the final one! I know..it was a PAIN for it to work like that, but it was a fun game! If you need any help, just yell..the walkthrough was a joint effort and that was fun too! smile Glynn Oh...don't forget to use the "Transport" device to exit to the next level..don't just walk back out the way you came in..['cause will cause you to loose your power balls also!]

Morning Solver,
Let me add to Glynn's help. Yes with five PB'S you may go to the next world. I did this a few times just to see what's going to happen in the next world and take a break from where I was. You still must start over in any world unless you get all ten in one sitting. Since the game is on you hard drive, some people leave their system on, go to sleep, work, whatever and resume playing right where they left off. This is the only way !!!!
Also note you may complete(10 PB'S)in say Gaya's lava Dungeon and move on to the Singing Tree Country. Gaya's lava Dungeon is done, in the bank, so to speak. Now if you turn off your computer, the next time you start up, you will see ten PB'S at Gaya's Lava Dungeon. This is the only kind of save there is. When a world is completed it is saved forever. So that makes like only four true saves in the game before the last world. The fifth world is a short with the Oracle.
Note: The blue pulsar's are only to mark your spot in any world. When you fall/die, you get popped back to the last pulsar you hit. This is very helpful as some of the run, jump, hop and skip kind of of sequences are very hard. Then hit a pulsar and say ok, I did it !!! Now continue on and when you fall/die on the next stunt, you start back at the last pulsar. You do not have to do that previous sequence agin. Just keep working on the one your on now. Complete it and hit a pulsar and so on and so on. This helps to progress through the world you are at only. This is all in one session, remember. If you shut down, or leave that world, to check out the next one, you will have do them all over agin. I was never one to leave my computer on. I would practice all I could in a world and then would set aside a block of time and come back and go through that world start to finish(10 PB'S) in one session. I would leave the computer running for say dinner or watch a movie or whatever. Never overnight or away from home though.
I thought that I had wrote about this stuff in the review. I hope this helps you and Social Willy. Enjoy the game !!!!!!!!

QUESTERS...
I have completed the first world with all ten
energy balls...
I have five balls in Gaya's Dungeon [knowing full
well that I must repeat them]...
I am back at the Temple and the transport for
level 3 is sparkling like 'crazy'...but no matter
how hard I try I cannot get to the 'sparkle'...

I've got the feeling I goofed this one, but I
don't know 'how' or 'why'..please explain..

Hi Solver,

The only way you can get to the next level through the temple, is if you complete the previous world with 10 pb's. To get there with 5 power balls, you have to use the transporter from the world you're in to the next one.

Gaya's dungeon is a hard level and the transport is all the way at the end so it would be pretty difficult & not very practical to get to the transporter without getting the 10 pb's, unlike the first world where you kept walking past the transporter.

I would suggest you go back to gaya's dungeon & complete the level. Just leave the game up & running & minimize it (alt/tab) & turn the sound down when you need to leave it to do other things until you complete the world. This way you won't have to leave & re-enter & lose your power balls.

That zigzag wood plank bridge with the shooting fire is really tough, isn't it? I don't know how many times I had to redo that one!

Where exactly are you stuck? Maybe we can help you over the hump. smile

Good Luck!

Melanie

Solver,

I know what you mean. The absolutely most challenging part of this game is that you can't save it where you want to.

You can do it though. Just take your time. The good thing about this game is that speed is not needed because no one is chasing you. If I could do it, anyone can. smile The next world is really gorgeous so it will be worth it, I promise.

Good Luck!

Melanie
