I really, really need a written walkthrough for this game. Any chance that one will be forthcoming from Gameboomers? I'm totally lost!

Jonathan Boakes has had a walkthrough out for all his previous games; hopefully there will be a walkthrough for this game pretty soon.

I can't get through the game at all either.
I first played it before the patch, and got fairly far in. Tried 2 different times, got stuck in different places because some things just weren't appearing or changing (that I knew should have from the other playthrough).
Then it got patched so I tried a third time. I felt hopeful at the start since I could do some stuff that never happened before the patch, but now I'm stuck even earlier in the game, because people just won't become accessible to talk to no matter what I do:
Station Master isn't moving inside, the beer guy isn't moving away from Morgan Mankle, Nanny Noah just... never gets an interaction icon. Already dealt with Rhys and mr. Tibbs. Basically all I can do right now is lots and lots... and lots... of apple bobbing.

welcome to GameBoomers, Tarragon.

There is a note posted about this game on the Steam forum, which I will copy and paste here, just in case you or others have not read it already. This was posted by Jan, a programmer for the game:

Quote:
For those who are stuck (and think it's a bug).
Hi everyone,

First of all, thank you for playing the game! You are awesome.

I just wanted to drop you a short note. I figured that you sometimes think that you are stuck due to a bug or even worse that you think there is just one path through the game.

What are you actually experiencing is the fact, that the gameplay is nonlinear and there are many different things you can do at the time. This also means that sometimes you get an advice from other players here to do something, which is not in your game yet, because you haven't done other things they did.

So my advice (without spoilers) is to take it slow, experiment and eventually you'll get it. Just don't expect you'll see what your friends and co-players do. Going through many of the threads here, I can see that always the "bug" is a result of player who didn't do something. Nigel has to do quite a few things for a result which you expect to see right away. wink

There is one stopping bug - the dance floor. We are preparing a cumulative patch for smaller things and this will be for sure fixed. Right now you can try pressing F5 in that scene and exiting it.

Our apologies for that.

Of course if you encounter a REAL stopping bug, we'll fix it right away, but so far you encounter nonlinearity, not real bugs (and don't forget to bob for apples more than once wink.

Hope that helps!

Apparently the dance floor bug has been fixed in the update.

I can't even find a full You Tube walkthrough. The longest I've seen is 20 some odd minutes. Is there a complete walkthrough of this game ANYWHERE on the internet?

I don't think so, but there should be pretty soon.

Well, I jumped the gun. With the help of the Steam Community, I was able to finish The Last Crown: Midnight Horror. It was actually very short. So short, in fact, that after completing it with help, I played the entire game again. I really liked the game; but there are really very things you can interact with and very few dialogs that change. What threw me the most is that you collect many, many items that go into your inventory but, as far as I can tell, are never used. I cannot wait for Blackenrock to be released. Hopefully, with a walkthrough! I love adventure games - such fun!

Would anyone have any idea where the save file is, I have decided to start the game again and I fancy a clear slate, I have done most of the game but certain things just aren't working so I thought a fresh start and I am enjoying just walking around Saxton think thanks

Hopefully someone will be able to point you to the location of the save files.

Its really not because things aren't working in the game, its just that there are many triggers to make things work. If you let me know where you are at I may be able to give you a nudge. I ran into a brick wall for quite a spell trying to figure out a trigger but eventually got it.

Save files are in "C:\Users\*your name*\Saved Games\Midnight Horror".

Thanks GreyFuss again!! I have started the game twice and all sorts of different things crop up, the problem I was having the second time was getting the vouchers for Apple bobbing, the first time I got 3, the second time although I bobbed 3 times again and I collected the vouchers they were not in my inventory, I kept on doing it but alas they were never in my inventory, I believe there are only 4 saves so I was overwriting but I just thought it would be nice to have a fresh start and try to follow the hints on Steam so that maybe I would progress. thanks

Oh and I forgot to say Thanks to Iurii, I looked all over the place for Steam saves but obviously not there!! oops

Can anyone tell me if he gets to use his ghost tools. I found myself bargaining the bartender for a drink if I look into the ghost sounds. I went back to his rental house and tried to pick up his tools but he said he didn't need them.

Looking through the Steam discussion forum for the game, I found this:

Quote:
If anyone is still stuck, I've now published a walkthrough for the game on the "Guides" tab.

Maybe that would help, just in case another player doesn't come along soon to answer your question.

He will say something about his tools, when he needs them.
Then you habe the ability to take them.
edit: this was an answer to rockingrjranch's question, by the way.

You have to see the ghost first for Nigel to get his tools!
Try 'Guess the ghost' game.

It depends on what you have done so far in the game, I played it twice and the first time it wouldn't let me pick up the tools but the second time I picked them up before I left the house, as you are in the pub already I would recommend talking to everyone especially Nanny Noah and exploring thoroughly and then returning to the house to collect the tools which you will definitely need. luck
