CountZero, have you played the Runaway games, which were also made by Pendulo Studios? They're really great games and are available through GOG and I believe Steam as well.

I also had a lot of fun with The Next BIG Thing. Liz is one of the most fun protagonists I've encountered in an adventure game. thumbsup

Glad to hear you played and enjoyed the games. thumbsup I'm really glad to hear they're making another game as well. I was afraid there wouldn't be any more after Yesterday. Looking forward to playing it when it comes out. woot

I have not played Yesterday yet. Would you recommend it? I hear it was short...

I played it when it was released and enjoyed it. And it might have been a shorter one than the others. I can't actually remember laugh

I liked Yesterday a lot, and I would (tentatively) recommend it, as long as you keep some things in mind. I think it had the most interesting premise of all of their games, yet it turned out to be my least favorite. As you said, it's very short, and I feel as though a lot of the story and backstory of the main character could have been expanded on. There are also no voiced descriptions when looking at objects or points of interest in the environment. I got used to this after The Cat Lady, but it was a bit odd at first. Also, characters "teleport" to places and objects of interest rather than walking there. All of these things are most likely due to budget issues, but the game they were able to make is still very interesting. Since there is a sequel in the works, it would probably be a good idea to play the original, although I believe the description for the new game mentions that it is not necessary to have played the original to enjoy the new game. However, I'm sure it could only help the experience if you decide you want to play it. smile

It's pretty cheap now on Steam, and it looks as though it has a lot of positive reviews - http://store.steampowered.com/app/205840/. Unfortunately, there's no GOG version, but I assume you got The Next BIG Thing from Steam anyway. smile

I really loved "The Next Big Thing", one of the best adventure games I've played in recent year. Great characters, humour and (mostly) puzzles. I would thoroughly recommend it. But never got round to playing "Yesterday".

Have you played Runaway 3? To me that's the most similar game in style to TNBT.

I, too, absolutely love "The Next Big Thing" and the Runaway games. Those are the type of adventure that I prefer, especially the humor in Next Big Thing. I thought the voice acting was outstanding.
