I know that this is a very old game but still one of my favorites. I have not played in a very long time and now I'm STUCK. Need help.

I was dumb enought to put the live firecracker into my pocket and I keep blowing myself up. The game won't allow me to do anything but get killed. What can be done at this point? Am I able to retrace my steps to somehow extinguish the firecracker before I touch it?

Thank you all.

welcome to GameBoomers, flygirl!

From reading one wt to refresh myself, since you picked it up as 'lit firecracker' - I doubt if it can be extiinguish.

Are you anywhere near:
Take 'Lit Firecracker'.
Walk 2 screens west.
Use 'Lit Firecracker' on lock of crypt door.

---- From another wt: It seems like you need to rush before it blows up. It might be one of those puzzles that count how many steps you make before it goes kaboom.
----Go to the ghoul kids' treehouse to find a firecracker. Quickly walk back to the tomb
with the firecracker and jam it into the lock. Do not hold on to the firecracker too long, or it will blow you up.

luck

That is exactly where I'm at. Trouble is it won't give me time to even start walking. I just stand there and blow up.Silly game....

FlyGirl, just got back from out of town, so let me say lol but from what you've said, I wonder if you might not have to go back to your last saved game before you picked up the firecracker and play this part again, following a walkthrough... luck

Good idea Jenny, I'll have to see if I can do just that. If not then ALL are welcome to give me the PUSH I need to get out of this Blow Up status I'm in.

Hope it works for you, FlyGirl. If not, you may have to wait until your winter freeze sets in, and shuts down that firecracker... lol

I think this is a timing bug - and there's a really dumb solution.

The problem is that today's computers won't let you get far enough before the firecracker blows up. The solution is, walk as far as you can in the right direction. When you die, choose the retry option. It will start you in the same spot where you died - NOT in the spot where you lit the firecracker. This time you can go a little farther then it explodes. Retry again, and you'll start in the spot where you last died. Just keep doing this until you get to the crypt door.

What FOV said
I've played the game a few times, and that is what you have to do. Sounds crazy but keep hitting retry and you'll eventually get to the crypt where you can use the firecracker to blow up the door.
Good Luck
