When you go into court you are putting your fate into the hands of twelve people who weren’t smart enough to get out of jury duty.

Joe grew up in Jamaica, then moved away to attend college and law school.

He decided to come back to Jamaica because he felt he could be a Big Shot at home. He really wanted to impress everyone. So he returned and opened his new law office in New Kingston.

The first day, he saw a man coming up the passageway. He decided to make a big impression on this potential client when he arrived. As the man came to the door Joe picked up the phone. He motioned the man in, all the while talking. "No. Absolutely not. You tell those clowns in New York that I won't settle this case for less than one million. Yes, the Appeals Court has agreed to hear that case next week. I'll be handling the primary argument and the other members of my team will provide support. Okay, tell the DA that I'll meet with him next week to discuss the details."

The "conversation" went on for almost five minutes. All the while the man sat patiently as Joe rattled off instructions. Finally, Joe put down the phone and turned to the man, "I'm sorry for the delay but as you can see, I'm very busy. What can I do for you?"

The man replied, "I'm from Cable & Wireless, the telephone company, I come to hook up your phone."

Question: What is the truest definition of Globalization?

Answer: Princess Diana's death.

Question: How come?

Answer: An English princess

with an Egyptian boyfriend

crashes in a French tunnel,

driving a German car

with a Dutch engine,

driven by a Belgian who was drunk

on Scottish whisky, (check the bottle before you change the spelling)

followed closely by Italian Paparazzi,

on Japanese motorcycles;

treated by an American doctor,

using Brazilian medicines.

This is sent to you by an American,

using Bill Gate's technology,

and you're probably reading this on your computer,

that uses Taiwanese chips,

and a Korean monitor,

assembled by Bangladeshi workers

in a Singapore plant,

transported by Indian lorry-drivers,

hijacked by Indonesians,

unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen,

and trucked to you by Mexican illegals.....

That, my friends, is Globalization!

An Italian, an Irishman and a Chinese fellow are hired at a Sydney construction site.

The foreman points to a huge pile of sand and says to the Italian guy, "You're in charge of sweeping."

To the Irishman he says "You're in charge of shoveling."

To the Chinese guy, "You're in charge of supplies."

He then says, "Now, I have to leave for a little while. I expect you guys to make a dent in that there pile."

So the foreman goes away for a couple hours, but when he returns the pile of sand is untouched.

He says to the Italian: "Why didn't you sweep any of it?"

The Italian replies in a heavy accent, "I no gotta broom, an' you tella me dat de Chinese'a guy supposa bringa da supplies, but he disappear and I no finda him."

Then the foreman turns to the Irishman and asks why he didn't shovel.

The Irishman replies in his heavy brogue, "Aye, that ye did, but I couldn't get meself a shovel. Ye left the Chinese fella in charge of supplies, but I couldn't fin' him."

The foreman is really angry now, and storms off looking for the Chinese guy.

He can't find him anywhere and is getting angrier by the minute. Just then, the Chinese guy springs out from behind the pile of sand and yells... "Supplies!!"

When young Jose, newly arrived in the United States, made his first trip to Yankee Stadium, there were no tickets left for sale. Touched by his disappointment, a friendly ticket salesman found him a perch near the American flag. Later, Jose wrote home enthusiastically about his experience. "And the Americans, they are so friendly!" he concluded. "Before the game started, they all stood up and looked at me and sang, .... 'Jose, can you see?'"

Brenda O'Malley is home making dinner, as usual, when Tim Finnegan arrives at her door.

"Brenda, may I come in?" he asks.

"I've somethin' to tell ya".

"Of course you can come in, you're always welcome, Tim. But where's my husband?"

"That's what I'm here to be telling ya, Brenda." There was an accident down at the Guinness brewery..."

"Oh, God no!" cries Brenda. "Please don't tell me."

"I must, Brenda. Your husband Shamus is dead and gone. I'm sorry.

Finally, she looked up at Tim. "How did it happen, Tim?"

"It was terrible, Brenda. He fell into a vat of Guinness Stout and drowned."

"Oh my dear Jesus! But you must tell me truth, Tim. Did he at least go quickly?"

"Well, Brenda... no. In fact, he got out three times to relieve himself."

The following is an exchange of correspondence between a customer and the Irish Railway Company: Larnrod Eireann.

Gentlemen, I have been riding your trains daily for the last two years, and the service on your line seems to be getting worse every day. I am tired of standing in the aisle all the time on a 14-mile trip. I think that the transportation system is worse than that enjoyed by people 2,000 years ago.
Yours truly,
Patrick Finnegan
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Mr. Finnegan,
We received your letter with reference to the shortcomings of our service and believe you are somewhat confused in your history. The only mode of transportation 2,000 years ago was by foot.
Sincerely,
Larnrod Eireann.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Gentlemen,
I am in receipt of your letter, and I think you are the ones who are confused on your history. If you will refer to the Bible and the Book of Numbers, 22nd Chapter, you will find that Balaam rode to town on his ass. That, gentlemen, is something I have not been able to do on your train in the last two years!
Yours truly,
Patrick Finnegan

An Englishman A Scotsman and an Irishman are all setting in a bar in New York discussing about how much they miss their home land. The Englishman says there is a pub near my home when you go in and order a pint and salute the Queen the next six drinks are on the house.

Not wanting to be out done , the Scotsman declares, that there is a pub near my home that when you order scotch whiskey and toast Mary Queen of Scott's the next six drinks are on the house.

Then the Irishman declares, in the County of Cork there is a pub that will give you all the drinks you can hold for free, then then they'll send you upstairs where you can have wild sex until the sun comes up, all for free.

Neither one of the other two believe the Irishman and ask him has this actually happened to you. Well no he replied, but it did happen to my sister, and she would never lie to me.

Hope you get enough sleep and not too much rain, Joe.

It's Tuesday night for me, and it's going to be another early work day tomorrow. As for now, I'm off to sleep.

Have a great Wednesday, everyone. fall

Nan, Merlin is a tough old boy! He's not ready to give up yet but our walks are getting slower and shorter. hearts
The deer are very active at this time of year here too. I remember when Merlin chased one down and grabbed it's ankle. He was such a fast dog!

Hello everyone. wave

I hope everyone is doing okie dokie today. yes

I didn't get around very early today. I got up and the sky was very dark and it looked like it would rain at any time, Well I waited and waited. After doing some gaming, I finally decided to get out and do something, and THAT'S when it started to rain. rolleyes

It didn't rain very hard or very long. I needed to go to the vet and get more heart worm pills for Baby. I did that, and then went to Walmart, filled up with gas, bought a bunch of groceries, and then I came home and put them up. After I had some lunch the sun was out, so I decided to go ahead and go to the creek with Baby. lab

We didn't get to the creek until after 1:00 so I only covered about a third of what I normally cover. I was getting tired, and had not found anything, until I decided to crawl under a big tree that had fallen across a big sand bar. It was one of my favorite spots to look, but because of the tree, or actually two huge trees that had been toppled by the flash floods, I had avoided even trying to get down to it to search for points. Today I crawled on hands and knees under limbs to a point where a lot of rocks had been washed up. I found nothing. While working my way back out though I started digging in the sand and gravel in one spot, and I turned up just the nicest, biggest point that I've found in forever. penguin

At that point I told Baby that's it. We can go home now. turkey

It's really one of the nicest points I've ever found. woot

I'll probably go back tomorrow and try and cover the rest of the creek.

A front is passing through here, and it's very windy now, and the temperature is dropping.

joe

Yep, now we've got the big storm over us. Looks like you're getting hit pretty good too Ana, better hang on, if you check out the NOAA site there's another front coming this way. Weather Spotters haven't been activated yet, but we're on call.

MaG, thanks for the red, white and blue for Veteran's Day. It's a really nice touch thumbsup

I feel a lot more like I do now, then when I first got here
