Hi, Marian!
I love this series and really enjoyed this one as well, but it's probably the shortest game I have ever played. I picked it up yesterday afternoon, played the main game on and off for a couple of hours, and it came to an abrupt (and I really do mean "abrupt") end this morning. I picked it up for $7.99 but, based on the length, don't feel it was even worth that. I just started the bonus chapter, but I'm not holding my breath that it will be a decent length.
Since CEs retail for $19.99 (and $13.99 for BF Club Members), I don't think it's unreasonable to ask that the game lasts longer than a couple of hours. Had I known it was this short, I would have waited for the SE to be released and used a coupon.
Color me disappointed.
Susan

Hi, Marian! I probably should have read the comments that were posted on the BF forum before I bought it but, I enjoyed the demo so much, I didn't bother. I'm sure BF would give me a coupon if I told them why I'm dissatisfied; however, since there were no glitches in the game and it's my fault for not doing my homework, I'll just suck it up ! Susan

Hi, Sharon! I was actually surprised that the bonus game was longer than most, but it didn't make up for the extremely short main game, or the abrupt ending that left me saying "what happened?". I also have no idea whose heart it was (unless it belonged to the woman who was hanging from the tree at the beginning of the game or one of the other victims). I was also confused by James' statement because I thought that I was the killer. So many questions ... so few answers ! I've never read the book or seen the movie (if one was made) so I wasn't familiar with the storyline. Even though the game was way too short, I also enjoyed it and, like you, I plan to replay it so see if I can pick up on some of the clues that I missed. Susan

Hi, Marian! I just replayed the main game and I'm still none the wiser. I timed it this time and it took about 2 hours which, IMHO, is absolutely ridiculous for any casual game because, that's all there is folks, for those who buy the SE. I will definitely check the reviews for any future ERS games before I buy them because, if I hadn't picked this one up on sale, I probably would have wasted 2 Game Club credits on it. I've never read any of Poe's books, but I remember watching "House of Usher" with Vincent Price and "Premature Burial" with Ray Milland when I was a kid, and they scared the "you-know-what" out of me !
