Does anyone have a save for Nancy Drew Secret of the Scarlet Hand "junior" right after sending the message on the HAM radio. My game is locking up every time I try to turn on the HAM radio and I can't move forward.

I found a patch on the Her Interactive website that addresses freezing problems with Secret of the Scarlet Hand - while it doesn't mention a freeze after using the radio, it couldn't hurt to install it just to see if it makes any difference (assuming you haven't already installed this patch, of course):

I downloaded the patch hopefully that will fix it, but I'm still looking for a game save so I don't have to play through the whole game again.

Ah - I was thinking that if the game didn't freeze there, that you would be able to continue on from a previous save that wasn't too far away from where you were before.

I had to uninstall the game and reinstall it unfortunately. So I'll take any save that is remotely close to where I was with the HAM radio message.

Aren't your previous saved games still there? With my Nancy Drew games, the saved games are still there after you uninstall the game - on Windows 7, they are located in the Documents folder.

I wish I had a save to send you,that was a great game! Hope someone can help.

Oh I'm sure I deleted them, I'm always sure to delete those files if I have to reinstall a game that old, because sometimes it will keep you from reinstalling the game at all if you don't delete all those files. I'm also on Windows 8.

I found a saved game but the note says it is for: talked to the Keep it Real place about the Mercuric sulfide and after calling Franklin Rose.
Does that sound familiar?

Thanks MaG, but that's very early in the game. It still seems to be locking up anyway, maybe I need to buy a newer version of the game or something. The only thing that might work is a save that is after using the HAM radio. Thanks for trying though.

Maybe you should post at Glitches. They might help.
If you're playing the original release maybe try to play on compatibility mode.

Miri, I think I may be able to help you. I have alot of saves for this game backed up on my 4shared account. There's a couple that I'm not sure what part of the radio operation they are so I'll test them and email you
