There are 4 RAR downloads, no install and a Zip download. Please confirm that this is 2 different ways to download the game (either the 4 RAR downloads OR the Zip as opposed to having to download all of these). And is there a benefit to one or the other?
Yes they are the same. I think they added the zip file for the sake of those who were confused about how to use multi-part rar files.
The advantage of the rar files is that you can put them on two single-layer DVD's.
The zip file is too large for a single-layer DVD.
A single-layer DVD will only hold 4.7 GB and the zip file is around 5.2 GB.
Also, to save the downloads on disc, do I just copy the downloaded file onto a disc? Not just asking about Gray Matter for this, but all the games I have there.
Yes, as long as the games are DRM-free, just copy the installer file or files to a DVD or Flash drive.
I have a 183 GB Flash Drive. Would that be better to use?
I'd back it up both ways.
I don't think the DRM-free version was available anywhere else.
