Carrying a Bouquet When Getting Married

Don't Throw the Baby Out the Bath Water

Baths consisted of a big tub filled with hot water. The man of the house had the privilege of the nice clean water, then all the other sons and men, then the women and finally the children. Last of all the babies. By then the water was so dirty you could actually lose someone in it.
Hence the saying, 'Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.'

```````````````````````````
It's Raining Cats and Dogs
Houses had thatched roofs-thick straw-piled high, with no wood underneath. It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all the cats and other small animals (mice, bugs) lived in the roof. When it rained it became slippery and sometimes the animals would slip and off the roof.
Hence the saying 'It's raining cats and dogs.'
`````````````````````````````````

Canopy Beds

There was nothing to stop things from falling into the house. This posed a real problem in the bedroom where bugs and other droppings could mess up your nice clean bed. Hence, a bed with big posts and a sheet hung over the top afforded some protection. That's how canopy beds came into existence.

Good morning everyboomie welcome

Have you ever played tennis? With yourself? joy That must be what it looks like.

It's FRIDAY!!! yay

Friday is supposed to be a sunny 60 degrees here, while Saturday is supposed to be cloudy with a 'Wintery mix' coming, so I may try and trip to the creek again. happydance

Ana I have dozens more broken points than I do whole ones.

You know my mom used to tell me that her and my uncles used to find arrowheads when they were kids, and just throw them at each other. slapforehead

I would ask her where they were when they threw them, so I could go find them. She said "Oh that was 75 years ago. They've been washed away long ago." haha

So, the points that I find were just lost last week?? lol

The thing that really kills me is that whenever they first cut the road through there, they must have carted off hundreds of points that were buried on that hill. frown

Have a happy day everyone.

Joe, I used to find them at Starved Rock when I was a kid all the time. I have no idea what my dad did with them. Probably threw them out like he did all my toys. sad

Happy Friday all!

Fantastic Friday ya'll puppy

Icky gray overcast day. I think the rain has moved on but the sun hasn't found us. It is warm though so I'll head out to the park in a few so the doggies, the kids, and I can all run around a bit. Son has to work.

I promised the Per tacos tonight, so there you have my day.

I've been in the kitchen since I got up. Boys found me before my first sip of tea wanting breakfast. I sent them back out til I got at least a 1/2 cup of tea down lol

Connie, biscuit bottoms joy Thanks!

Nan, hugs!

Winfrey, I have last night's dinner for breakfast quite often hamster

Back later ya'll wave

All Breed Fun Show at Riverdale Farms: This is an Indoor Event to have Fun and it is very educational. They have Jumping, Hunter Flat and o/F, Halter, Showmanship, Rail Classes and much more. A friend of mine runs this.. love to watch these horses at work. You have to ask the rider before approaching but yes, and they usually like it.. they love to hear how beautiful their horse is. lol There is an inside arena that they warm up in with a sitting area above the arena that you can eat and watch ...should be fun.

Weekends are great and all but I want to be able to say what Violet Crawley did, "What is a week end?" Sadly, I wasn't one of the three winners of the Powerball so I will have to put off that day for a while. grin

I will have some friends over on Sunday morning to root on the Seahawks. It's an early start here, 10:00AM.

Enjoy all. wave

First off I want to thank Connie for my breakfast this morning. BB pancakes m-m-m-m. It's been a very busy day here. I worked another split shift. Still helping Mike with putting all the xmas decorations away for another year. Didn't sit much. I have tomorrow morning off so I'll sleep in maybe. I wake up about 5:15 every day. We'll see. So it's time to say good night all. See you in the AM.

Midgie hearts

Just do it.
