I have a rather strange problem. My computer loses the wifi-connection after a while, or if the lid is closed (it is a lap-top). The stranges thing is, it happens on more than one machine. Tried everything I can think of, and this is getting irritating since I need to be Connected to the web because of lectures at School.

If I restart the pc it is back to normal, then it starts again. And I think the network-card is ok since I'm connected to the web through my Iphone right now at it picks up that Connection just fine. But I can't continue using that solution due to cost. The bill will be to large frown

Caroline

Oh, I forgot to mention, all Three of the machines were win8. Two HP and one Samsung.
One was a stream x360 that is brand New, one pavilion (don't know anything more than that) from last august and the Samsung is 3 years old I think.

Depends on what your setup is - sounds like a router is dropping the signal.

Gardens put to bed for the winter. Time for some gaming!

Yes it sounds like your wireless router may be the problem.

When my wireless goes wonky, I unplug it for a lil bit then plug it back in to reset it. wave2

I am at the university, so unplugging the modem it not an option. Strange thing is that everybody around me have great signals and I can't even Connect.
The Samsung could With low signal, but if worked. The HPs dead. I'm wondering if a stronger USB network card would help? I use those on my desktop at home and it Works great there. Need to buy a New one for this computer though, mom would kill me if I take away her internett smile

Caroline.

Edit:
Might speak to soon, but the driver to the card was very outdated and originally made for win7. I updated the driver and have now full Connection. Thank for all Your help.

If you have an android phone or tablet you can download a free app callled Wifi Analyzer. It will show all the available wifi signals in your house and how strong they are. It is on google play
Here is the link
Wifi Analyzer

When you start the app you can swipe your finger from right to left and see a signal strength meter and see if your wifi is dropping off.

Nice, might try that one later if it continues to give me problems.
