I got into the library and the study, but can't get out. I found the note about the clock and I can see what looks like a hand for the clock on the desk, but I can't pick it up. There's a door that's locked and I can't get out through the bookcase anymore. How do I get out of here??? duh

Ladybug, you need to set the clock properly to unlock the desk drawer.

Solution:

The highlighted Bible passage is John 5:30. You must set the clock to 5:30. According to the piece of paper in the trash, you hear a musical melody when the hour of the clock is set to 12, three slow chimes if the hour is set to 6, and one chime if it is set to any other time. For the purpose of this solution, let's start by setting the clock to 12. So, rotate the minute hand around and keep clicking the middle circle to hear the chimes. When a musical melody plays, the clock is set to 12. From this point, you must rotate the minute hand fully around the clock clockwise five times, and then around again until the minute hand is touching the 6. You have just set the clock to 5:30! Click the center circle. If you hear five fast chimes, then you have set it correctly! Look down and open the desk drawer to continue.

Hope this makes sense!

Thanks CB I had all the information, but I thought you needed the missing clock hand to set the clock. I'll follow your instructions and see how I make out. Really enjoying this game so far. You've been very helpful with everything.

Hi, Gimme. Just in case you ahven't yet, look at the closeup of the key. I'll list 3 hints for you, followed by a full solution. Read as much (or as little) as you need! smile

HINT #1: DON'T OVERTHINK THIS PUZZLE. The solution is simpler than you think! No math is required!

HINT #2: Letters are the key to solving this puzzle.

HINT #3: 01=A

SOLUTION: Each number represents a letter of the alphabet. 01=A, 02=B, 03=C, and so on. Thus, the first line of numbers equals Z-E-R-O, the second line of numbers equals O-N-E, and the third line of numbers equals E-I-G-H-T. 018, or 18 is the solution!

Hope this helps! laugh

Hi, Ladybug. From where you meet Anne, enter the church. On the VERY first screen inside the church from where you entered, move your mouse over the pews on the right. There will be a clickable area where you can find her purse. smile

I am so stuck. Am standing in front of forge,(pretty sure that is where I need to be) have spider key and cannot do anything. Need a little push. By the way, everything seems to be a "hot spot". Is this how it was meant to be, or do I have a problem? Maybe I should have ordered the manual, but I get too impatient and need not to have a ready solution at my fingertips.
Thanks, Carole

Carole, you don't use the key on the forge, check the floor near the archways instead.

Carole, as Gimme said, turn around from where you got the key, walk forward, turn right, walk forward, and then look down. smile

And yes, everything is a hotspot there, to "blind" you, so to speak.

Thanks to both of you. I did not think to look down when I was searching the room inch by inch. Due to the help, I am now doing the tic-tac-toe many, many times. I even tried to let him win to no avail. Think I'll play with it while watching the debates tonight. Sort of like compounding the frustration level. This has been a very good adventure game.Of course,if I run into anything timed/action; I may have to adjust my opinion.

Hi, Carole. Let me know if you need help with the tic tac toe puzzle! A few hints: the AI gets dumber after you've lost/tied once, and then dumber again after you've lost/tied twice. So, after you lose/tie two times, try to trick the computer by planning to win in two rows at the same time. smile If you need a direct solution, just let me know!

Thanks for the help-the hint got me through the tic-tac-toe. I have been busy all day helping out with my new grandson (after 5 grandaughters)and did not get back to it till tonight.I have finished and want to congratulate you on a very enjoyable game-good puzzles and provocative story. I even forgive the timed sector near the end, since you gave me so many do-overs.

Jenny-Took me four tries to get a daughter. She was the first girl in two generations in my husband's family. Now there are girls all over the place and the new grandson is the first boy in that generation. Go figure! Thanks for the good wishes.

Sometimes it seems to run that way, Carole. I had an aunt who had ten boys and one girl! Her grandchildren were about 85-15% girls--I don't know about the next generation.

In my case, after having four girls and two boys, my grandchildren count is eight boys and only four girls...

I'm on chapter 2 and don't know what to do now? In the inventory, I have a photo, gloves and a journal. I've been in the kitchen and found the paper for the oven controls, in the father's office and outside. All of the other doors are locked. I need a hint, please. smile

TLC, go back to the study. There are things to do there. You should also keep trying different doors to see which are unlocked that were locked before.

When you do follow Melanie's hint about the study - be sure to have your monitor waaaaay high. It took me some time on this pole part.
I was walking and prodding everything that was active. lol

I found the spot for the pole. happydance I knew it had to be somewhere around the picture. It seems a lot of games have some kind of safe or something behind a picture. I'm off to do the slider puzzle. eek
