Hi everyone. I've been playing Morrowind on my new laptop and it plays great, but I've been having trouble installing mods for it. I have Windows 10 and a new version of WinZip, and I was able to install Skyrim and had no trouble installing mods for it, so I'm not sure what the problem is with doing it w/ Morrowind.

I'd love to know if you guys have had problems with this and if you could help me to figure out what I need to do from here?

btw my specs are:

You would need to be a bit more specific about what the problem is. Is it the Nexus mod manager you are having problems with? Can't you add mods manually?

Oh sorry. Let's see...okay. When I try to unzip and install a mod with WinZip (Morrowind mods only, using Windows 10) for some reason, they don't appear in my Morrowind Data Files. But, I do the unzipping and installation the way I did with Skyrim, and those mods installed okay.

I thought it might be because I'm not familiar with the new WinZip program, but it worked fine with my Skyrim mods, so I guess I'm not sure why they don't seem to install and appear with Morrowind.

Thanks for your help and if you all need more or other info or details, let me know. smile

Why don't you try using the free 7-zip program? That one always works. Or maybe even the built-in decompression option in Windows 10? Right click and select Extract All and then tell it where to extract? Unless these are something like .rar files... then you'll need 7-zip or WinZip.

Oh thanks, Drac! I'll give one of those a try. I didn't know that there was a decompression option in Windows 10--I'll have to try that if the 7 zip doesn't do the trick. Thank you again!

I'd be surprised if Winzip didn't unzip the files properly.
Did you unzip the files into the correct folder? or did you unzip them into the Skyrim folder? Check and make sure where they went.

I have a feeling Jenny is correct.

There has been an option to decompress files since XP.

Thanks Jenny and Drac. I'll check and make sure I didn't put them in my Skyrim folder, and give the decompression a try.

I appreciate all of your help btw!
