In Runt's tower, have all buttons pushed except one. Cannot get Simon's robe to change to white. Can get purple, green and orange plus the initial red, yellow and blue. Only other thing I seem to be able to do is put in all 3 original colors then I get black.
At some point in the game, I got white but have no idea how I did that.

For the colors - you said that you used all colors to make black - that is a shading quirk in this game because that is white! You got it!
