I'm in chapter 4 and have the journal, photo, crowbar, gloves, rope tied to bucket. The water is turned on. I read the message in the well, looked in the crystal ball a few times, found the herbs, but can't pick them up. Something next to the well is stuck and I can't figure out how to free it. How do I open the well? I've been all over and haven't seen anyone to talk to. I read the books in the library. I don't know what to do next. I saw the little square gizmo in the trap door, but can't pick it up. Also saw the one just like it by the front door, but can't pick that up either. I'm stuck. help

The well is covered. Look in the well and click on the metal cover and do a sentence forming puzzle.
Then when the well is opened, drop the roped bucket and see that the water is too strong.
The next puzzle is to stop the water flow using the water pipes by the wall of the house.
The stuck thing on the left of the well is the crank - it will be movable later when you palce the roped bucket in the well. smile

Thanks MaG!! I thought I did the sentence thing. I got "Open the well and save your dad", but nothing happened. I'll try again.

That was it. Did you click on the well cover after that?
Then turn off the water flow now. smile

When I clicked on the cover it rearranged the letters. I didn't turn off the water, that's another puzzle that I'm clueless on. I know the wheels turn left or right, but I don't know in what position they should be.

O.K. I shut the water off, but after the letters are arranged in the well, I still can't open the cover. When I click on it, it just rearranges the letters. The only option I have is to click on the work BACK on the left bottom corner of the screen. I can't put the rope & bucket in the well either. I tried to fasten it to something on the left of the well, but that didn't work. When I'm at the bottom of the well where the letters are I can't get to the inventory to get the bucket. help

If it rearranges the letter that means that puzzle is not done yet. If it is done correctly the letters will not appear anymore.

Arrange one of the 3 letter word first - the top right is THE. You will then finish the puzzle.
Try again and see. smile

I got it to work, but I'm not sure it was the same way you're saying. I did the letters the way I always do and clicked back. A cover appeared and very quickly disappeared before I could click on it. I tried several times and finally got to click on it. After that I was able to drop the bucket and make it to chapter 5. Don't know if that cover appearing and vanishing so fast is normal or not, but it worked for me. Thanks for your help, don't know what I'd do without you. wink

I am supposed to change the time on the clock but cannot figure out how to move the minute hand. Should my cursor change to a hand or something? The only cursor change I have seen so far is the 'lips' which means 'talk'.

You have to go out of the church and click on the outer door to get Randolph say again - he needs the keys from Father Dan. I had the same problem. After that, you'll be able to access the puzzle. smile

OK, and thanks, have succeeded in making it to the piano in the church balcony, when I play the notes and check out the spot for the tile (loved seeing Father doing his dance and singing! What FUN!), placed the tile from the priests closet, and clicked on 'any circle' I do not see any numbers appearing - I have replayed this from a previous save spot but I must still be doing something wrong or missing something - I get no numbers - will keep on trying and trying to see what the problem is frown - May come back to ask for a saved game, between this game 'stalling' now (my stuckness before was my own brain not 'getting it') and swimming, and swimming and swimming in POTS and getting nowhere, am spending a lot of time in 'depression mode', am sure I will get over it, just need a good laugh or two.
Bye

wave Betty Lou,

Is this the pyramid puzzle with the nines? If so, you have to move the numbers to different spots. I don't remember the action used exactly but I think you drag them to another spot to rearrange them. Do you see the 9's?

Just to add - when I saw the blank circles - I just clicked on any of them and numbers showed up. Hmm...

Betty Lou, did you get a message saying that you do not have Flash installed when you started the game? That puzzle requires the Macromedia Flash plugin. smile

Thanks for the tips, and Mel, thanks for the saved game, puts me thru this 'glitch'. CB I DO have FLASH installed, so do not know what the problem is. I may have forgotten to do something along about the 20 or 30th time I played it to this point. The tile placed opens the puzzle for me but when I click on a circle I get no numbers - don't know why. Anyway Mel sent me her saved game and I have installed it into the game files. Will proceed on my way (am in the bathroom) as soon as I get through with finishing up some church business and genealogy club 'stuff'. Thanks for your help too.
Love, Betty Lou

It's me again Mel. I need a saved game for just after the ice cube/maze puzzle, I can't seem to hold onto it, it keeps jumping back to the beginning on me about half-way thru. So I keep running out of time (Phooey! frown ). Thanks if you have it and will send it

That save is not working for me Mag. I'm still stuck in that maze ice cube in hand. I keep getting an error message when I try to LOAD your saved game. Don't know what is wrong. Thanks

Thanks Mag, I deleted your previous saved attachment from my game files, downloaded this more recent one, reentered the game and chose your save to LOAD but keep getting the error = an error has occurred, game will not run properly, click "esc" then exit (or quit) so I am still stuck - and when I try to play from my last save just before carrying the ice cube into the hot maze I cannot hold onto the ice cube as about half way there it jumps back to the beginning and I have not touched the hot walls at all.....ready to throw this disc into the trashcan! frown

Let's wait for Mel and see if her saved game will work for you. smile

oops just read previous posts - she doesn't have any. Let's wait for somebody that might have one. But I have a feeling it might be a problem with your computer.

I can send you a save too, in case all the others fail. You'll be getting it directly from the source. smile
