I'd rather a false positive from Norton than computer problems from a virus or Trojan or something. I'm 99% certain that I got a Trojan from the download site Wadjet Eye used to use back in 2009. Happened twice and that was the only site I had gone on both times. I had Norton then too but not in real time live or however you say it.
Actually, I don't know if it was a download site as I did not download games at the time. I was just trying to purchase some games on disc.

This was just posted from WadjetEye:
So if you are using Norton Anti-virus you are probably getting alerts when going to the Wadjet Eye website. Google Transparency came back negative, so it is most definitely a false positive and there's no danger. The false flag is likely caused by spambots on the forum. It's a problem we've been dealing with for a long time and I guess it's time to finally do something about it, but in the meantime you don't have to worry about being infected with anything.

1) I sent the Url to Kaspersky for analysing 2) It could be a false positive since I ran the Url through a site called VirusTotal which analyses a Web site and tells us if the site is Clean or Not. Most of the Major Anti-Virus companies participate although Norton does not. If you would like to take a look and keep this site for future reference here it is: https://www.virustotal.com/en/Note: Always check the Analysis date, if it is Not Today's date then do a Reanalyse, might take a minute or two but it is worth it to get an accurate result. PS: I forgot to mention that the Wadjet link came out Clean from all of the 67 or so Participants

I'm glad to hear that. I hope they get back to you and let you know what it was Kaspersky thought was a threat. Well they were pretty quick to get back to me, they apologized for the inconvenience and gave me instructions to add the URL in the "Trusted URL section", I did so and all is good, the site now comes without any warnings. I take it that they checked from their end before replying to me.

My AV caught the index page tried to infect me with. I have notified Dave Gilbert that his site has been hacked. Did your antivirus indicate what the site was infected with? Or what the infection was trying to do?

Thanks Jenny100.
So, since Norton blocked the site from me completely, I should be okay right? My quick scans from Norton and Malwarebytes are clean. I did not do a full Norton scan at this time. You should be fine since Norton blocked it. But I don't think this is the kind of thing a "quick scan" can detect. Microsoft recommends a full scan.

It's probably a good idea to run more than one kind of scan... I ran malewarebytes and it did not find anything.. then I ran Windows defender and it found 3 serious ones... on my surface pro. I then ran malewarebytes on my desktop.. nothing.. could not run Windows defender because I have Avast loaded and I could not get defender to open.. so I ran Adwcleaner and it found 2.

That's because Defender wisely makes sure you are not running two anti-virus programs at the same time. If you want to use Defender, you will have to uninstall Avast.

I was very surprised though that malewarebytes did not catch it I'd still like to know more about this particular infection. Three different antivirus detected it, and each had a different name for it. So far we have Web Attack: Nuclear Exploit Kit Redirect 4 HEUR:Trojan.Script.Iframer Exploit:JS/Axpergle What was it trying to do? The Microsoft link for Exploit:JS/Axpergle suggests it is a first step to automatic download and install of other malware without the user's knowledge. And since it infects using Java and Flash, which are cross-platform, does that mean it has potential to infect OS other than Windows?

Apparently antivirus like Kaspersky and Norton will block an entire website even if the exploit is limited to one webpage. So it's possible that one of the "spambots" managed to upload something bad to the Wadjet Eye forum, and that caused the entire website to get an alert -- even though the homepage and games page were fine. Nothing wrong with scanning your computer though. It's probably a good idea to run more than one kind of scan... I ran malewarebytes and it did not find anything.. then I ran Windows defender and it found 3 serious ones... on my surface pro. No telling where you picked those up, but it's just as well you ran the scans.
