Betty Lou, the walkthrough talks about doing the pellets in two separate trips--that's all I really know about it.

Estimates of the waiting time have varied from ten to fifteen minutes. I'd say this is probably like that wait for the ladder earlier--don't touch anything, just time your wait so you don't give up too soon...

Betty Lou, did you test the pellets before you used one? Yes, the machine will make pellets that don't work. I was down to the fifth pellet before I finally did it right--kept dropping them or not clicking on the linking screen on time.

OH Boy! Well, I guess I have to practice being a bit faster then - make the pellets, go to the machine, grab one and link immediately to upper Cave, link to Relto, back to pellets, grab one, link immediately to Kadish's room, link immed to lower cave and set camera and wait, and wait and wait and wait.................zzzzzzzzzzz, huh, did it miss it again? Will give it a try ~ soon ~..... rotfl sleep Thanks for the tips.

Betty Lou, the only time you have to be quick is when you click on the linking book to the city on your right as you pick up the pellet. You will use both hands if you do it right. If you don't, you will see the pellet drop to the floor, as I did. Test the pellet at the testing site. If it is working--makes a bright light, go back and pick up another pellet. Now there is no rush. Just link to the upper cave, drop the pellet and then go to the lower cave and wait--about 14 minutes for me.

There are three sites involved. The testing site in the city, where you put the pellet into the machine, the upper cave where the pellet is automatically dropped, and the lower cave.

HI, I'm baaaaaaack....stuck again. Same place. The 'actions to occur' in the cave/caves is not happening no matter what I do.....the only thing I can think of is that I am not 'testing' the pellets correctly, and/or I am not doing something right. The order of this task is to: make the pellets, take a pellet (test it?, how?), link immediately to the first cavern with the book/link next to the pellet machine, it/she drops the pellet in (am I supposed to see a "bright light"? It is not dark in the cave and I can see just fine. Immediately link to Relto, then back to pellet machine, then pick up another pellet, link back to Relto, then to Ahonanay via the shell marker in the book, arrive in Kadish's room, immediately link with that stone link in the center of the room to the second cave, it/she is supposed to drop that pellet into the ?water? and I am supposed to see a bright light? This cave too is not dark, and I can see the 'bumps' on the wall just fine. Then I set up my camera aimed at the bumps on the wall and wait........as little as 5 seconds, or 10 minutes and as much as 15 or 20 minutes? Then take a picture....GUESS WHAT - it is NOT happening......
So I have tried to continue on as if it has, have been to that other age after standing on the metal plate with the shell pattern and climbing the ladder up to that other room, and made my way into the 'fireplace' in the MYST age and entered the pattern on the inside of the door, nothing happens no matter which way I do it. Help please.
I need advice.
Love, Betty Lou

Betty Lou, it seems that you are missing the testing site. There is a linking book to the right that takes you to Ae'gura (not the upper cave) where you will find a machine that you can put your pellet in. It is a balcony with a ladder nearby. You will see a bright light very shortly.

You will not see a bright light when you drop the pellet in the upper cave.

Pokey, that linking book to the right at the pellet machine links me to a cave, so where can I look for the book to link me to the testing sight? I'm more than a little bit confused here.....as usual - rotfl but having fun anyway, just need my 'brain' shook and some precise step by step instructions to help 'clear the cobwebs' and 'put me on the right track' and I DO thank you all for your help - I sure need you a lot

AND does this also mean I have to finish Ercana before I can make everything in the last age/s work correctly? If so then I really need to know what I am supposed to do and how to do it in Ercana.

There should be both a bahro stone that links to the upper cavern and a linking book to the city.

From the walkthrough:
"Return to the stone pellet machine room. There are two links here: a Bahro Stone to the upper cavern and a book to a location on Ae'gura."

I would assume you have to do this part to advance. You don't need to take pictures, though.

Ah, Pokey, sorry to be such a pain - so is the upper cavern the place I go to 'test' the pellet? When I link on the book I end up in a cave not at Kadish's on Aegura....for that I linked back to Relto then used the Aegura book - see how confused I am?........... laugh

Betty Lou, hold a pellet in your hand and touch the linking book at the same time [linking book in pellet room]. It will take you to a place where you walk on a metal like grate, I think it's a silo like building. There is a machine that will "scan" the pellet and either the machine or you will drop it into the water. You should see a decent whitish glow if your formula is correct. Then go to a linking book that is there and you will link back to the pellet room.
Take another pellet and go to the upper Bahro cave, drop your pellet and then wait for 14 or 15 minutes.

Clear as mud?

Good luck, you are really sticking with this game lady.

Boy, talk about 'dumb blondes' and 'scrambled eggs for brains', I finally understood this - seemed to keep ignoring that link book next to the stone at the pellet machine, but once I saw how to get to 'test' area etc, everything else just fell into place. I am so delighted that you all have stuck with me thru this and had the patience to help me 'see the light' happydance cause I finally got it.......Am now in MYST fireplace trying to figure out how to 'merge' all my KI shots, or do I just do that with pencil and paper (for real)? Have done just that and need to go back to the game and try my pattern out, it does not match what the walkthrough says at all....
Have a great weekend. The son, d-i-l and 2 granddaughters are on their way here to spend weekend with us.....so looking forward to it.
Love, Betty Lou smile

I thought I'd answered this Betty Lou (I distinctly remember typing the answer!!!), but it seems to have disappeared so I'll post it again.

To get back to the vault, use the Kadish book. I would try the marker--if it isn't set to take you right back inside the vault, you'll still be farther along than if you start from the picture, which is the very beginning...

Well, to be more precise about my problem, I do not know what IS the VAULT...And do I link to Kadish Tolesa using the 4th book (purple)...If I link using the shell symbol I end up inside the extra room that opens when the 3 machines are set correctly and if I link using the picture I end up at the beginning of the cave walkways to those 3 machines. So just where is the vault? I have looked everywhere in the KT area and cannot find the linking book to "link to a different version of Kadish vault". Feeling a little confused again....

Betty Lou, the vault is where the man (Kadish) died rather than leave all of his riches. You had to climb up on a pile of boxes to touch the marker in that room.

If the marker takes you inside the door that you open by setting those three machines, then when you walk through the door leading out of that place, you will be ready to do the puzzle where you walk the shadowy path. Remember that one?

The Kadish Gallery is in the big open room after you climb up those four pillars. It is full of cables, including the one that you had to walk to get to the Bahro Cave. It is all the way up the stairs, and you have to set some buttons over to the right, just before you go up the stairs, in order to open the door.

Does that all sound familiar... think

Yes, I know where that is and have been there but did not know it was called a 'vault', I can find my way there again, and thanks so much. I had some time here and there yesterday to play with the game in between the girls (all 3 of them) using my computer.....haha. It is early here now and Aub and I are the only ones up so far. Thanks again
