Have you looked at the mirror (close-up view)?

Emily, When I look at the broken mirror, Ren's remarks are "this red thing looks like blood" or "broken mirror". If I try to use the evdcoll on it, she says "these 2 things won't work together". Please.

This one is a really finicky hotspot. Just keep trying your vial on blood spots until you get one that works! (If I recall correctly, it's a shard just slightly to the left of center.)

I'm at the power plant but how do I get passed the mechanical dog?

Use something in your inventory. I was kind of surprised by this because it's an action most adventure games don't let you take.

I found a map for the catacombs but I have no idea where they are

Did anyone actually find a way to use that map of the catacombs?

I am at the fence of the power plant, tried to use the wire cutters on the chain but it didn't work. How can I go inside? Didn't find anything else to cut here...

TLC, Go back across the wood plank and go down the stairs at the foreground of the screen.

Jenny100, I wanted to see if not taking-picking it up and then go to the catacomb will get Ren to go down there. Haven't had a chance to check that yet.

Springchicken, Have you remove the clone-monster out of the way already? If so - the wire cutters don't work on that chain. What does a tough, gun-toting PI do to take care of things in her way?

Jenny: I did not use the map at all, but I didn't realize there was a command for getting a close-up view of documents (middle mouse button or, I think, the M button - it's stated in the manual that I never noticed until after I played the game!) What happens if you do the close-up view? Is it useful then? (Not that the catacombs were that difficult to get through...)

MaG, I tried that, and yes you can get into the catacombs without the map.

Emily, I did read the manual about the middle button and saw the maps- documents on close up. But yuck - they are so indistinct to recognize. I tried screen captures too. Thanks for the info about the map.

Really? Even the lab reports were indistinct? Could you read them at all? I'm wondering what the point is of a closeup is at all, then.

I didn't do it to the lab reports because it was mentioned on the game - wait maybe the oil has importance bec. I was wondering how they knew about the plant. I can check that. Be back.

I used it on the catacombs and the ventilation ducts but very indistinct for me or my eyes are too old.

---- Oh yes, the footprint analysis showed rocket fuel and where last used - Power Plant.

Figures. I was so confused about how she just knew to show up at that power plant.

Apparently a manual is supposed to come with this game? I got 3 CDS, period.

But thanks to these posts, and a bit of experimentation, I know that the 'L' key gives closeups of documents in inventory when you're hold them.

Now, how do I get out of the catacombs/into the archive?

I have a full bottle of "Black Gold" but no apparent use for it as yet.

I've been running the game only from the automatically installed desktop shortcut.

I ran from the shortcut too - that's why I never noticed the manual.

What else do you have in your inventory?

In addition to the full bottle O' gunk, I've got:

the knife
the gun
2 analysis reports
Catacombs map
rope
a pipe

Have you found the room with the crack in the wall?

You have to combine some inventory items to make a tool and hack through that crack.

I'm not sure if you have all the items you need though, or if there's one more you have to pick up.

I am stuck at the tunnel's entrance with the big rat. How can I get rid of it? In my inventory I have only an empty gun, a saw, a hummer, the lab results, a picture and it seems nothing works.

Started from scratch, in case I missed picking up something early in the game.

Have been in every catacombs room repeatedly.

Am holding the full bottle.

This time through, *didn't* use the planks where they fit, in case I need them in a second place.

Am once more facing the hole in the wall.

What exactly do I need to get through it?

Nothing in my inventory presently combines with anything else.
