Does anyone remember a game like this.

In your first town you enter from the south east. Straight ahead memories are vague but I think you interact with npc's. To the west in the middle of the town is a structure of some kind where there is a quest and at the northwest of the town is a tavern where you pick up quests and meet a female companion. At the Northeast of the town is the exit to the forest etc where you do your quests with caves and various things.

I may be confusing the start with another RPG, I'm not sure, but I think you start out in a two story house/mansion and your mission is to escape solving several things and fighting your way out. Once you get out of the house you are then free to excplore and I believe (unless as I said I am confusing it with another RPG) you arrive at the town I described in the first paragraph.

If my messed up description rings any bells I would appreciate any feed back.

Thanks for the reply Jenny but Return to krondor is definitely in my memory banks and that is not the game I'm trying to remember the name of.

That kind of reminds me a bit of the start of Baldur's Gate with a little Divinity: OS thrown in... duh

I feel a lot more like I do now, then when I first got here

Reminds me of Neverwinter Nights. But it's so long since I played it I'm not sure ....

EDIT :

Forget Neverwinter Nights lol

I think it might be Drakensang The Dark Eye whistle

That is the one Mad. That solves a mind melt that I've been having for quite a while now. I did get the "escaping the house" bit confused with another game and that is a question for another time. Anyway the town I was thinking of was in Drakensang so thank you very much.

Hi everyone. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to ask my question about Drakensang here, so if not, please move my post. (thanks!) I saw this thread and went to look for screenshots for Drakensang the Dark Eye and it looks really great. I saw one screenshot that worries me though---I am PETRIFIED of spiders, and there were tons in one of the shots, so I'm wondering if anyone knows if they are only in that one part of the game, or if they are sort of randomly sprinkled throughout the game?

Thanks so much!!

I don't remember them being liberally sprinkled throughout the game, Tracy, but the actual Spider Quest has zillions of them !! eek
