With the recent revivals of Unimatrix (Christopher Brendel) and Michael B. Clark it got me thinking of some of my favorite developers and their games that are no longer in business. Who do you wish to see back in the gaming business? I really miss Kheops Studios off the top of my head. What's yours? Ana

Maciej Miasik is making games with his new company Pixel Crow. You can see his upcoming adventure/time management game release Beat Cop here. His website is here. I wish I could focus on the screens or video without feeling ill. I can't do pixelated games. I really liked Detalion too! Ana

Detalion (Schizm, Reah, Sentinel) Presto (Journeyman Project games, Myst III) Cryo/Kheops Arxel/Index+/Wanadoo/Canal+Multimedia Microids Canada The developer of the Last Half of Darkness games LucasArts The old Sierra (with Ken and Roberta before the hostile takeover) Activision (Zork Nemesis and Zork Grand Inquisitor) Streko Graphics (Aura) Southpeak Interactive (Dark Side of the Moon, the 20,000 Leagues under the Sea that was advertised as upcoming in Dark Side of the Moon) Legend Entertainment (Mission Critical, Death Gate, etc.) Galilea (Loch Ness) Discovery Channel (Connections, Byzantine) The developer of Physicus and Bioscopia Omni Creative Group (Riddle of the Sphinx, Omega Stone)
Then there are some that only made one game that I know of, like the developers of Obsidian, The Last Express, Comer

That's a great list Jenny! As you know WRF Studios (Last Half of Darkness) is still developing games, unfortunately it's not adventure. There is hope though! Good list too Marian. You all are making me miss more than I thought!

City Interactive is called CI Games now. Unfortunately they too went to more profitable action and casual games instead of developing adventures. Ana

BrownEyedTigre, thank you so much for the news! 'Beat Cop' does not look at all like 'Schizm' And I am not sure how an adventure game could be combined with 'time-management'. But it is definitely worth waiting! It is nice to see that Cryo/Kheops (I would add Atlantis Interactive, Index+/Wanadoo/Galileo and Arxel Tribe as my favorite companies) is being missed by so many of us. Indeed, there are literally no games like those any more! Microids does not look like it is capable of making some nice 'French-school' historical adventure in the near future As for LucasArts - it is not the company, it is the people who were making great games there. And they are making them now indeed, Ron Gilbert, and David Fox, and Dave Grossman, and Tim Shafer, and Bill Tiller... I would love to see also Brian Moriarty getting back to the games though!
