I have the gog version and I can't get it to run. using windowed mode I can get it to start but it starts to lag and then it crashes usually at the first cutscene

Does your video card meet the requirements?

So even if you're running windowed, check whether other graphics settings are set to low.

I have a Nvidia gtx750ti and falls within system requirements. I am running windows 7 ultimate which comes with dx 11, I have 8 gig of ddr3 ram.
in the folder "game" the cfg file states " total number of logical processors 1, number of available
processors 1, total numbers of cores 1."
In the folder error log,it states "intel core i5, stepping 2 fpu on chip, cpu speed estimated 3.2 Mhz.
So the game knows the processor, so why the error on cores. Maybe the fault is in the registry

I would like to update this post, after contacting xaviant support (who I found very helpful) we got to the problem. click run, type msconfig/boot/ advanced options, there 2 check boxes. one restricts the amount of ram windows uses, and the other restricts the proccessor, eg 1processor-1core.
unchecking these boxes cured the problem but it will still only run in windowed fullscreen mode
but hey I can live with that
This can also affect "other" games

Thank you for posting the fix. Having those boxes in msconfig/boot/advanced checked wouldn't be the default setting, but maybe installing an older game from GOG added that configuration to msconfig.
