Replaying and wondering if it is possible I dead ended myself somehow.

In the inn there is a cabinet that opens and there is a locked drawer inside it. I did not get into that drawer. There is also a candle on the way down to the basement that needs to be lit but I haven't found the matches (maybe in the locked drawer?).

What I have done:

Got rid of both goons, one with a bat to the head and one with the inn sign. Started crossing the bridge and had to scurry back as it collapsed. Dug the grave open and took the ring thing. Been down in the well.

I cannot get to the goons cabin because a man is blocking the path. I cannot get back into the inn because the door is locked and I have no ladder or anything to climb up through the hole that I jumped down through.

In inventory I have a lantern, the dragon ring, the knob for the ceiling hatch in my room, and a key (I believe) to the goons cabin.

Are you able to tell me from this information if I am just missing something or if I am dead ended because I missed something earlier?

I don't want to make anybody too crazy so if it's easier to refer me to the w/t, that's ok.

Thanks.

From reading the wt by Norma, it looks like you need an item at the "cross". Then someone will tell you how to use it.
This item will get you to distract the other goon and get to the cabin.

I used that item already and got rid of that second goon but cannot access the cabin anymore. I'm going to look around again today with fresh eyes and see if I find something I missed last night. I have some things in my mind I seem to remember from the first time I played but...

I'll be back.

Thanks!

I'm stumped. I cannot see what I missed either before or after I jumped down from the balcony. I know I need to light the candle to go further into the basement but...

I think I missed something before my first save and may have to start over and try again.

Good luck.

Just a reminder - inspect all places to get out of the area and then talk to Micha. He should tell you something important.

---
I don't think you need to replay. I think you need triggers by talking to Micha and the other one.
If you missed the item for the balcony - look for it. There is a lamp upstairs you can get now that you saw a dark area at the basement.

I could not find what I was missing so I did re-start the game and as I got to the same situation despair started setting in, but Eureeka! I finally found what I was missing. Been playing most of the day but the game is not alt/tab friendly so I could not come back to update you until now when I got out of the game. I'm stuck in the globe puzzle in the library so figured I need a break.

Got it! Sure wish I didn't have to go back to work tomorrow (was off last week enjoying my games). Have to let it go for the night.

Just to let you know I was finally able to get back to the game tonight. wish I had just stayed in it last Sunday and finished it. I only had about 15 minutes left to play today.

I'll probably be playing Last Sanctuary soon but maybe something in between. We'll see how I feel tomorrow.
