Hi Guys

I hope I am in the right forum, I have just purchased the latest Sherlock Adventure, but when I try to download it I get the messages not enough disc space (C Drive), I have an STD Hard Drive which is partition with a dump drive, I have check my Programme files in the C Drive and there are 2 folder, one states programme files the other states programme files (x86), there are some files of the same name in each folder, can I delete some of them from one of the folder to free up some disc space and not effect my PC, or is there another method, I have 3 external Hard Drives with loads of free space on them, may thanks for any help received

Cheers
SAFC

You haven't told us how much free space is on the drive (or partition) where the game is trying to install.

Does the installer allow you to select one of your external drives? If not, you may have to free up space on C:

There's a possibility that your temporary folder is full, and that a disc cleanup will free enough space to install the game.

This sounds like a good way to hose your operating system.
If Windows let you do it, you'd end up with a non-functional computer.

How many files are in Program Files doesn't matter at all.
What matters is total free disc space where you're installing the game.
If you want to delete anything, uninstall some other games through (Add/Remove) Programs in Control Panel -- or delete documents or movies in your Documents folder, most of which should be stuff you put there yourself. Don't touch operating system files.

Any previously installed games should be uninstalled through (Add/Remove Programs) in Control Panel rather than just deleted. Otherwise you can end up with a mess in your registry.

Here is how to check hard drive space
http://www.wikihow.com/Check-Your-Hard-Disk-Space

I found one site that said the game needs 20 GB of hard drive space ***here***.

Steam also says this

If you want to change your Steam install folder to a different drive that has more space, check here
