Wasn't there a way to find games by theme (detective, fantasy, futuristic, etc.) at one time? I looked, but couldn't find anything like that. Am I missing something?

I don't recall such a thing. We just discussed it here.

You can always ask for suggestions here, and our members might be able to help you with some titles. wave

Thanks Ana & Marian. I must have just wished it so. At any rate, I have hundreds of titles from Big Fish. I wanted to see if there was something I missed in the detective line that doesn't include magic or fantasy. Like the Hidden Expedition titles for example. I like the magic and fantasy titles as well, but I'm getting a little tired of them. New York Mysteries are another good example.

I've bought so many games, I may have exhausted their supply of the ones I like scared

Have you played the two Nick Chase games? They are several years old now, but are good fun. Nick Chase is a detective, and I don't recall there being any fantasy or magic in the games. wave

There is a list of genres but it is difficult to find. Here's how i found it:-

From Gameboomers site click on Big fish Games button.
Screen shows list of buttons saying Featured, Download, Online and Mobile.
Hover mouse over Download and to the right will come up a list of Popular Genres, At the bottom of this list is one that says "See all genres" Click on this.

At the next screen scroll right down to bottom to sections of small print. One section says Top Genres. at bottom of this list is "More Game Genres". Click on this.

The next screen is a complete list of game genres by alphabet - "airplane games", "ant games" etc etc.

Thanks Marian and Meryl. No, I hadn't heard of the Nick Chase games before but I downloaded the demos to try them out. Meryl I found the list you mentioned. I was hoping to find a genre that said detective or mystery but no such luck. Well at least now I have a couple more games to try. woot

I've played hundreds, too, and keep a spreadsheet. More than half that I have played I rate only so-so, and at least a quarter are stinkers that I would not recommend.

I assume you tried the Shiver series, the Surface series, the Royal Detective series, and the Lost Land series? Consistently better games in those groups. Not much fantasy, but there is some other-worldly stuff. Lately, I have enjoyed the Amaranthine Voyage series, although they do have a lot pop-ups.

Calavera, Cadenza, the Dana Knightstone series = also better than average. Riddles of Fate series also pretty good.
