Phew !! This is the first time in the game that I haven't been able to "manage" frown

I've just taken command of my "big ship" but even with the trainer enabled I have had no luck so far in defeating this first sea monster. I can't seem to get the ship into a good position fast enough before the monster moves to another spot eek

Anyone got any tips, please ??

Thanks.

Mad headscratch

It takes a lot of sailing to get broadside of the monster, but the cannons do quite a bit of damage then. I played on easy and killed the first, and I think the second, but I really disliked that they put this in the game. I hated the ship battles too. I enjoyed the game to that point and had done basically everything else in the game, so at that point I quit because it was no fun.

Hi Pokey smile

Thanks for your reply - and sorry I'm so late getting back here.

No good news, though !!
I still haven't managed to kill the monster frown
[Admittedly, I haven't had much time to try since I last posted.]

Anyway if I can't kill it, I'll go back to a "pre" big ship save and just finish all the other quests that I can.
But that would be a disappointing finale after I was enjoying the game so much ....

Cheers.

It is quite frustrating trying to get in position to shoot the monster. It is too bad that it was put in the game along with the ship battles. Bad enough to do it once, but you have to do each three times. I thought it shouldn't have been in the game. The rest of it was well worth playing and I didn't mind quitting at that point since I had done everything in the game except the sea battles.

The god mode would be of no help in this part of the game.

Well, I've had a few more tries and I totally agree with you, Pokey. But I am really sad as I have absolutely have enjoyed the Risen series up to this point sad

I ran into a similar situation when I reached the end of Legend of Grimrock 2. I loved the game and thought the encounters with enemies in the game were not that difficult. The end threw everything but the kitchen sink at you. There were groups of many of the enemies in the game, from easy to very difficult, that were thrown at you while you were trying to fight the boss. I wasn't having any of that, so I brewed a ton of health and energy potions as well as cheat crystals that would revive a dead or paralyzed member of my group. I don't mind cheating if it is the only way to get to the end. Too many games think there needs to be an almost unbeatable boss at the end.

As I recall, Risen 1 had boss at the end that left a bad taste for some players.

Oh, I do cheat during RPG combat when I'm obviously just plain not good enough. Which is probably a lot more often than many others lol

But if I'm enjoying the game as a whole I don't care. Who am I hurting, after all ??
[It certainly doesn't spoil the game for ME.]

And I willingly confess I made good use of God Mode in both Risen 1 and 2 snicker

Mad, I feel the same way. As long as you are having fun and not impacting anyone else (which you are not on a stand along game) that is the way to go! I play for fun and the story. Son plays for the "challenge". It's great when we get to play the way we want puppy

I play RPGs more for the story, too, looney4labs smile

My brain faces "challenges" enough with my Adventure games laugh
