When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down “happy.” They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.

an office key. The guy returned ten minutes later with the copies … which he’d made on the Xerox machine.

Shane works in the deli department of a large supermarket chain, where he often finds himself in trouble. Just look at the notes management has supposedly written to him:

“Shane, stop putting Some
Assembly Required stickers on
the eight-piece chickens.”

“Shane, any free samples you
give must come from the deli, not electronics.”

“Shane, when a customer asks where to find a product, give them an aisle number, not directions to
Albertsons.”

I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth when my squad leader barged in. He was holding a toothbrush, which he proceeded to use to scrub underneath the rim of a toilet.

“What are you doing?” I asked.

“Hazing the new guy,” he said with a grin.

“You do know that he could get ill from the bacteria on the toilet.”

His reply was quick and to the point: “You didn’t.”

The Briton replies, “Sorry. I didn’t realize that was still a requirement.”

We were at a red light when a car pulled up, its music blasting. “He’ll be deaf before he’s 25,” I said.

“It won’t help us,” my wife replied. “He’ll only turn it up.”

Before beginning the service, our pastor read aloud a note he’d been handed moments earlier. “It says here that I should announce that there will be no B.S. tomorrow morning,” he said. He tucked the piece of paper into a pocket and added, “I’m hoping they mean ‘Bible Study.’”

While he was visiting, my father asked for the password to our Wi-Fi.

“It’s taped under the modem,”
I told him.

After three failed attempts to log on, he asked, “Am I spelling this right? T-A-P-E-D-U-N-D-E-R-T-H-E-M-O-D-E-M?”

It’s important that soldiers
learn from their mistakes; otherwise, they’re bound to repeat them at
inopportune moments. Here soldiers share what they’ve gleaned from
past gaffes:
• “I was cold” is not a sufficient
reason for being caught in the female barracks.
• Do not communicate with officers using only Madonna lyrics.
• Do not conduct live fire exercises at the general’s (unattended) jeep, even if it’s parked in an area clearly marked Live Fire Zone.
• Do not attempt to shave with fire.
• Do not use 27 packs of sticky notes to label everything in the barracks
so the general won’t have any questions during the inspection.

Events had left my son-in-

two-year-old grandson was nearby

“Don’t cry,” he said. “Sometimes

Post: Is it me or does nobody have manors these days?
Response: I just have a normal house.

Post: I do not have patients for stupid today.
Response: Patience.

The heat is escalating here in Southeastern Helloklahoma, but there's good news on the horizon.......if you're a polar bear. yes

The sun has entered a new phase or cycle, called a solar minimum, which means there are no sun spots, which means that a mini ice age is coming. penguin

Shiver me timbers! scared

It will only last between 40 and 60 years. Let's see, headscratch 64 plus 40 Mmmmmm, they may have to jack hammer through the permafrost when it's time to lay this old man to rest. lol

Who knows, I may want to relocate to a warmer climate, like Bolivia, or the Sahara. duh

Have a happy day everyone.

It's cooler here again, Joe. Come on over. I enjoyed the 90's, but we are back in the 70's.

Have a happy day!

Gimpy the errant cat is still here! Yesterday morning, after 2 1/2 weeks missing, there he was for breakfast. He stayed around the yard all day in the shade. He looks very blah and not in the best of health, but still, he's here, he's eating, he allows me to touch his head lightly. Don't know where or what he's been doing for all that time. Maybe some other cat scared him away? He managed to get food somehow. I'll never know. He isn't talking. duh

Other kitties are acting normal around him. I'm stumped. He had a slight bit of missing fur under one side of his chin, but I think that was from scratching the fleas. One small anomaly near his eye. Could have been a scratch that just took out some fur. Tiny. Still dirty, he's not cleaning himself. Oh well. He's old but I'm glad he's back for whatever time he has. Still flabbergasted that he just appeared after 2 1/2 weeks!

Lazarus and Mini-Me are branching out. Mom decided to take him OUTSIDE the fenced deck area to the driveway. There are several access points to get under the deck there. Possums and kitties use them a lot. Well Lazarus couldn't figure out how to get through the fence slats. He tried a load of places and under and over. Finally Mom came back out and 'spoke' to him and he figured it out. They both went under the deck for the rest of the afternoon. Not sure why the 'new' hiding place, except it would be very cool under there and our weather is getting warmer. Mom is black and sleek and looks maybe part Siamese from her bone structure. Lazarus is growing a lot of fur especially IN his ears. It's actually sticking out in huge clumps and looks weird. Still a kitten, playing with everything that moves or doesn't move. Fun to watch.

Penelope the Peacock is back to 'normal'. She looked poorly early in the week, wasn't eating as usual, but now it's back to gulping grapes and munching sunflower seeds. Looks fine. I think she must have laid eggs again and they took them away. They won't ever hatch and she won't leave them for weeks on end...hoping. Once they are gone, she's back to regular routine. Poor birdie, I wish she had a mate!

WARNING! This person is extremely blonde...please type SLOWLY.

Thumping Good Thursday ya'll puppy

Had one of "those" nights last night so I'm going to be moving slowly but steadily today. Will get things done, but will not be rushing around.

More book cooking is on tap, and will have to drag out the pizza dough recipe. The boys want to make pizza this weekend so I need to get the dough in in the fridge. I also need to vacuum the den. We shall see.

Darn, Joe, I was excited. Thought maybe we get a bit cooler, but googled the sun thing, and it said not.

Ana, send the cooler our way please.

Gerry, Happy day wave

Connie, I cooked bacon this morning and Skywalker dragged it off the back of the stove and ate it. (2 seconds flat) So had to cook it again. lab

Gail, glad the walk was nice. I think I'll be bike riding in the bedroom.

Sorta, glad the kitties and Penelope are all doing well.

Where does the term Thump day come from? Never heard that used for Thursday before.

Mr. Bill, it comes from "Thumping-Good Thursday", for example, how a dog's tail thumps on everything when they are happy and wagging hard....I think. Though I could be wrong.

Midgy, hope work is good.

Welcome home, Space wave

I just watched The Barkley Marathons about this insane endurance race held in Tennesee. So will not be doing that rotfl

PS I'm tired from just watching the clip. woozy
