Dadguy.

A million thanks for your comments on page 34 about the elevator medalion and the color door.

My medalion has 3 blues and 2 greens and 1 cyan.

So I was working all sorts of combinations to get the white and of course it didn't work.

When I saw that the green on the medalion is a yellow on the door, it was easy to go on with the game.

Thanks and a good day to you.

Chiefette.

Chiefette, glad you got it figured out.

Just a note to others, it is LIGHTgreen on the medalion that looks yellow on the door. There is also a Green (darker) on the medalion that will look green on the door.

Here's a summary of the colors avail and what they might look like on the door puzzle.

MEDALION--------DOOR

Lt. Green-------Yellow
Lt. Blue--------Lt. Blue (Cyan)
Purple----------Pink
Green-----------Green
Blue------------Blue
Red-------------Red

Bathysphere Puzzle.... still!!! The tunnel door is open and I have been trying: dunk door open, then close under water bring up, dunk again with door closed and dunk again then spill water with no luck. Still the door is shut. Anyone want to look at my saved game to see what I've done wrong??

I did a different combo tonight and it opened -door closed with no water, dunk, bring up, dunk, open and close door bring up, BINGO open door! Now for the door puzzle I see everyone loves so much! Thanks for the offer though!

Dragonia, yeah, that's what I did. I just kept trying different combos and BINGO!

Good luck with the door!

I'm in Serenia now and I love it here. Curious tho'-- do different people actually get different kinds of spirit guides and is it really based on your actions in the game? The nifty-voiced priestess told me I "was not afraid to ask for help" when necessary...but I'm wondering how she knew that, as I never have used the in-game help (in fact, it's disabled) and have only come here. Do you suppose they have a spy wink ?

Ok I have read all the hints about the door puzzle several times but I am still confused. My colors starting at 12 are blue, purple, blue, yellow, yellow & green. These colors must be in the center, right? Ok then and the trinagle goes green, red, blue and upside down triangle goes purple, yellow, lt blue. So the first triangle shape at 12 would be for my combo purple, yellow, blue, right? Then the next triangle shape at 2 o clock would be green, purple, blue? Going around the circle I am left over with not enough of the colors I need to finish the other triangles. So what do I do or am I doing it wrong? And do I push the button again if I have the right combo? I notice it also resets the puzzle.

But wouldn't that be wrong? The triangle at 12 is upside down so that means the color combo is purple, yellow, lt blue. Mine with the blue at the center should be purple, yellow, blue. Right?

Dragonia, the hints I gave you are based on my game as the blue, red and green did the job.

Look a few pages back and look at Dadguy giving a very good hint about the colors.

I had a similar problem as your's.

Good day.

Dadguy; printed out your instructions you gave to Dragonia regarding the Manchee but don't understand what you mean "use only the remaining three until the beast gets caught then hit him with the poison tones." Which remaining three and which poison tones?

Jayne if you are out there this Mangree puzzle is AWFUL! mad

Dragonia; I hope this will be of some help. In my door puzzle I made sure that the little triangle apexes aimed toward the center of the door mirrored the colour wheel from the Spire medallion. My colours were,clock-wise from 12, red, green, red, magenta, light blue, and magenta. If I recall there is a memory scene which will display two colour wheels each containing three colours ( I think it was from the dream scene). Anyway your triplex of colours for each triangle should then reflect the colour scheme of the two colour wheels (from that dream). I hope I haven't made it too confusing. When you finish with the last triangle they should all glow white and the door burst opens. I dont remember having to touch anything else.

Dragonia, Pere is giving you a good hint and you could also look at page 34 for a hint by Dadguy.

Have fun.

Rock, what I meant was, once you get the white mangree in the far left perch (where the poison berries are), don't move him anymore. Move only the other three mangrees to chase the camoudile around till he falls in the pit, THEN QUICKLY use the three code signal for the poison-berry-throw to put him to sleep. If he gets out, try again, but only chase him using the three mangree's that aren't white (i.e., leave the white one in the left perch).

In case you are saying that you didn't find (or understand) the tone for the poison-throw, it is on the page you find in the hut. The spoiler is: Right 1.5 sec, Left .5 sec, Center .5 sec

Dragonia, I just reread my post on page 34 titled Ultimate Spoiler. It seems clear and correct. Use the photo of my solution to understand it (print it out if it helps).

Note that your six colors (blue, purple, blue, yellow, yellow & green) must be in the positions with the white circles around them (see my photo LINK ). So, if BLUE is at your 12:00 position, the two other colors in that triangle must be GREEN and RED. If PURPLE is your color at 2:00, then the two remaining colors for that triangle must be LIGHTBLUE and YELLOW.

I think Pere is wrong about them glowing and the door bursting open... When you have it set properly, you have to press the button (bottom) again. This can be painful, because if it's wrong, the puzzle resets and you start over again.

Jerry,

Sorry you are having trouble with the snake. Don't let it get to you, my friend.

The snake puzzle worked for me the first time and every subsequent time without a second try needed. So, I suspect there is a matter of understanding the process that is missing.

Find the lower right black stripe on the snake. Click (and hold the button down) on the right edge of the stripe and drag the mouse horizontally to the left over the stripe. At the left end of the stripe stop and release the mouse button. I think of it as petting the little guy, but it important that you stroke right to left.

Do this three more times and the snake should come alive, then click his head.

Gamers...
I am at the infamous 'Mangree/Camoudile'puzzle...
I have a couple of questions...
[1]..How precisely must the wheels be set [this
'hamhock'of a cursor gives little leeway...
[2]..Must I rush to turn the wheels before the
'ATTACK'sequence..or can I take my time...
[3]..I'm not getting any Mangree action..why do
you suppose?
I've read the QUEST several times and these seem
to be my sticking points...need help! SOLVER

Solver,

Haven Mangree/Camoudile puzzle:

There is an index to the page numbers of certain hints on page 24 of this Quest if you need help finding the hints on the mangree puzzle.

1. Not very precisely. I found that experimenting was the best way to know. I rotated the wheel steadily for about 2 seconds for the "long" and just a short chirp for the short. I think it basically just needs to be able to distinguish between short and long. Biggest cause of failure is due to a hand slip where you go up and down instead of around with the wheel.

2. Take your time on the wheels when moving the mangrees around... no rush there. BUT !... when the camoudile falls in the pit, there is a BIG rush to play the poison-throw tone to get him before he climbs out of the pit.

3. The mangrees won't move if they are tired (i.e., you went to a mangree again without resting him at least two moves by the other mangrees). They also seem to not move if there is not a convenient perch open for them (i.e., they only move to certain perches from certain perches).

Hope it helps,

Dadguy

Sorry Dragonia, Dadguy is right. You do have hit the button for the door to open. I just don't remember doing it (by then I was probably half asleep and did it automatically). oops

drangonia, when you have the right combo, you push the button and if all the lights turn white the door will open, if you don't have the right combo and push the button, the puzzle resets, and have to try again..

I am at the end of Haven, which I really liked (compared to Spire). Was able to solve all the puzzles on my own and now I can't get that darn snake to wake up! Is there a hot spot- I keep petting the 4th stripe and nothing happens. I guess there's a humbling moment in every age!
Thanx, Margie

Hi Rocking--I'm glad you're having the same fun as I did with the Mangree puzzle. smile

Have you written down the correct tones for each of the Mangrees and for the Berry Throwing? I had them right next to my screen.

What I did was practice the berry throwing tones several times before I moved white Mangree into the far left position. After he gets in place never play his tones again. Just move the other three guys around until the Camoudile falls into the pit.

You should be able to figure out what move will make him fall in the pit. As soon as you hit the final tones for the mangree that will make him fall in the pit, start the berry throwing tones. He is very fast at getting out of that pit!

I owe getting through this puzzle and the spider chair puzzle to Dadguy.

I found this puzzle to be slightly easier than the spider chair...but not much!

Hang in there and good luck. You will get it done.

Jayne

Dadguy, I'm holding the left mouse button down and moving right to left 4 times on the bottom right stripe. I guess that's not right....

Tazmanw--

this is what worked for me to wake the snake up: Hold down the left mouse button and stroke the bottom stripe right to left. Release the mouse button as you move your cursor left to right and depress the button again as you begin each stroke. You have to stroke fairly quickly. Also, getting out of the lieft chair and getting back in after a failed attempt seemed to help reset the puzzle.
