Sorry to ask this but I have Win. 7 64 bit and installed TLJ 4cd version which I've played 3 or 4 times in the past, thought I'd play it again seeing I've finished Chapters and also recently replayed the original Dreamfall. However, although it installs perfectly and I was able to start it once I'd disabled the 3d accelerator and also set to XP mode and play as Administrator, it only plays the Prologue as far as April presumably waking up and you can see outside of where she is lying, she gets up and starts to move - then the whole thing stops. I've tried and tried, read all sorts of things on the net but can't seem to find any solution to this. The odd thing is that I am pretty sure I've previously played it on this Win 7 computer as well as the Win. XP one. Does anyone have any solution to this - thanks in advance!

Until a techie comes along have you tried this:

Set compatibility mode for 640 × 480
This is the simplest and most stable solution.
640x480 is not supported by many modern displays.
Right click the game shortcut.
Choose Properties.
Go to the Compatibility tab.
Choose "Run in 640 × 480 screen resolution".
Click OK.

Found this on an old post here:

Would that I could be the peacemaker in your soul that I might turn the discord and the rivalry of your elements into oneness and melody

I'm not sure if by "XP Mode" you mean the XP virtual machine that you can download from Microsoft if you have Windows 7 Pro. It's not the same thing as using Compatibility mode set to XP compatibility. Very few people use "XP Mode" for games.

Try Compatibility mode on a setting other than XP.
TLJ was made for Windows 95/98/2000, so be sure to try those compatibilities rather than XP compatibility.
You may also want to put checks on the compatibility tab next to the checkboxes for
  • disable visual themes
  • disable desktop composition
  • disable display scaling on high DPI settings

Also the DLL files from the demo can help with issues on Windows Vista and above. Look at the bottom of the first post - http://sierrahelp.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=3925
