Whenever i zoom in on something or right click to use my camera on Myst IV there is cursor lag. I tried setting my settings to windows xp service pack 2 and that helped most of the lag, but there is still some lag keeping me from solving that pesky snake puzzle!

What if you set compatibility to Windows 98?
Have you reduced graphics settings in the game options?

Which version of the game do you have?
Original CD version from 2004? (will need patches)
DVD version from 2006 collection?
A download version?

Are you using Windows 7 64-bit?

I haven't been able to find any fixes for Windows 8 that you haven't already tried.

It sounds like you've already found the ***Myst IV Revelation Technical forum*** at Ubisoft and applied the recommended patches.

You might have to find a saved game from after the snake puzzle.
There are saves for Myst IV at

but they don't seem to be individually labelled.
