I have been playing GOG's version, but within the last year, loading is the luck of the draw. Sometimes when I try to load the game, it will load right in like it should but other (98% of the time) when I get to the menu, no matter how many times you click on any of the buttons, it does nothing (although you can see the button depress). I have posted on their forum, with no reply and it's been almost 3 whole days.

I have seen that Steam offers the game too, but not free. Has anyone gotten the game from steam and may know if this will fix my issue? I did post on Steam, but the Dragonsphere forum is mostly compiled of people complaining that steam charges whereas GOG's version is free

Also, I am soon getting a new computer which will have Windows 10 (my current computer no longer has a warranty and it's motherboard is failing, so part of me is wondering if that could be part of my problem too

luck NDLVR. Your situation sounds really frustrating.

It's nice to be important but it is much more important to be nice.

GoG isn't free either, it was as part of a deal with Atari, but as of Jan 1st it is 5.99.
I don't see anyone complaining of tech issues on Steam but that doesn't mean it will run.

I will move you to Glitches maybe they can help.

If your motherboard really is failing, that could cause all kinds of problems. I doubt the Steam version would work any better since it's a DOS game and both Steam and GOG would use DOSBox.

I have the GOG version and it runs without fault for me (in Win7).

A great old game - so I hope you can find a fix yes
