As I am reorganizing my games and computer, two things have me wondering. 1) Has there been or will there be another chapter of the AGON story after The Lost Sword of Toledo? 2) What seems to be the big gripe with Steam? Is it mostly that you can't get hard copy of the game? (I ask this after packing a large number of games and their boxes into an old trunk because they were designed for Windows 95 or 98 and simply won't run on most new computers. Who needs a bunch of non-functioning old disks?)

If all the people were heroes, there would be no one to watch the parades.

Hi the haze,
My only gripe with STEAM is about their "support" system. I SHOULD refer to that as "NON-SUPPORT". It is SO frustrating when you can't talk to a "LIVE" person, or even by e-mail to get the help you need, and I have MANY Steam games. THe only reason why I buy from STEAM is because some games can not be purchased elsewhere. I cross my fingers when I have to play a game from STEAM, and hope there will be no problems to deal with. I've had a few, but I've given up trying to get "support" from Steam. I've heard this from others on GB as well, so I'm not alone on this subject. ANYWAY, Happy Gaming!
Sandy

No. The various reasons have been discussed ad nauseum in the forum. Poor support is certainly one reason. Imagine spending hundreds of dollars on games, having your Steam account hijacked so you can't access any of your games, and then not being able to get in touch with Steam about getting your account back.

Nearly all older games will run on new computers with the help of emulation. And not everyone throws away their old computers.

The Haze, I love Steam and highly recommend them. I am not concerned about them going bust and losing my games. Just like todays presidential election, people have their minds set and will argue their points home, but I can tell you that I and a lot of other people are quite satisfied with them, that is why they are the largest. AND, they pay the developers regularly.

I am a bit afraid to purchase from steam because what if you really do need support I know that you have to make a separate account for steam support but one time i forgot my password and went to reset it and it changed my regular account password and as far as creating a ticket so you can get a some help forget it not happening so i guess that some like steam and some have no problems at all and then there is me who has given up on support or any help at all just my thoughts. It's good that lots of people use Steam so developers get paid for their work and the like. I do completely understand that yes

But I stopped using them long ago because of their unbelieveably poor support system.

I can still access the very few games I have with them - but not being able to obtain help OR a refund for those games that never worked properly (and that doesn't apply just to me) is, to my mind, simply not good enough frown

While I much prefer GOG, I use Steam a lot and have never had a problem with them.

Hi Draclvr, I didn't mean to imply that STEAM itself is troublesome. i really like their ease of making my purchases, downloading my games, and the whole general process. My only issue with them is their so-called support process. I'm glad you have had positive experiences with them, but does that include their support process as well? HAPPY GAMING!

I gotta agree with that part, Sanford! Their support takes eons... but I've fairly good luck in the game forums for tech support the few times I've needed it.

Draclvr,
You just gave me such a good idea, the Steam Forums would be very helpful. Why couldn't think of THAT in the first place? LOL
