All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.

WALT DISNEY

``````````````````````````
Ivy League Music
A month after Donald MacDonald started at Harvard, his mother called from Scotland. "And how are the American students, Donald?" she asked.
"They’re so noisy," he complained. "One neighbor endlessly bangs his head against the wall, while another screams all night."
"How do you put up with it?"
"I just ignore them and play my bagpipes."
```````````````````````

Maturing Process

During my eighth-grade sex education class, no one could answer the question "What happens to a young woman during puberty?" So I rephrased it: "What happens to young women as they mature?"

One student answered: "They start to carry a purse."

```````````````````````
Easy Math
Question on second-grade math quiz: "Tony drank 1/6 of a glass of juice. Emily drank 1/4 of a glass of juice. Emily drank more. Explain."
My grandson’s answer: "She was more thirsty."
```````````````````

At a planning meeting at my college, I congratulated a colleague on producing some superb student-guidance notes explaining how to combat plagiarism.

"How long did it take you to write them?" I asked.

"Not long," he said. "I copied them from another university’s website."

````````````````````````
When my summer teaching post in the Czech Republic came to an end, I told my students my next teaching destination would be in Australia, "the land down under." On my final day, they presented me with a card. The carefully worded note read "Good luck, and happy journey to the underworld."
```````````````

During a lecture on the influence of media on teens, a typo in the PowerPoint presentation revealed the professor’s true opinion. The title read “Three Reasons Teens Are Vulnerable Toads.”

````````````````````````
Found in a heap of recycled files donated to our school was this curiously labeled folder: "Excuses I Have Used."
```````````````````

There was a typo on a test I was taking. Instead of "(D) none of the above," it said "(D) one of the above." So I circled it.

`````````````````````
Seen outside a professor’s door at Georgetown College: "Psychology 376: Dying, Grieving, and Coping. Take for your major or minor, or as a fun elective."
`````````````````````````

Our school had just installed a new air-conditioning system, and a representative from the company wanted to make sure it was running smoothly. Poking his head into an empty classroom, he asked the teacher, "Any little problems here?"

"No," she said, smiling. "All our little problems have gone home."

```````````````````````````
Discovered: why our nation’s education system is in trouble. When a friend delivered 20 new math books to a teacher’s classroom, the teacher exclaimed, "Oh, shoot! I was hoping it was something I could use."
```````````````````

My son, a high school senior, went to take a national literacy test recently. A sign on the classroom door read "Literacy Testing in Progress: Do Not Distrub!"

`````````````````````````````
Teacher: What is an evangelist?
Student: Someone who plays the evangelo.
`````````````````````

Teacher: Why can’t freshwater fish live in salt water?

Student: The salt would give them high blood pressure.

`````````````````````
Teacher: Mira went to the library at 5:15 and left at 6:45. How long was Mira at the library?
Student: Not long.
```````````````````````

For 98 percent of the students at the school where my wife teaches, English is a second language. But that didn’t stop them from giving her Christmas cards. Still, their enthusiasm for the occasion sometimes exceeded their grasp of English. Among the many cards that flooded her desk were: "Happy Birthday, Grandma," "Get Well Soon," and "Congratulations on Passing Your Driving Test!"

````````````````````
Our local newspaper lists recipients of school awards. Beneath one photo, the caption read "This year’s Perfect Attendance Awards go to Ann Stein and Bradley Jenkins. Not present for photo: Bradley Jenkins."
```````````````````````

Good morning everyboomie.

Good morning Ana, Niteowl, Venus, Gerry, Connie, Spacequest, and everyone. wave2

I got up at 6:30, but it's been a lazy morning. The 'feel like' temperature at 7:00 was already almost 90 degrees. I decided to stay in instead of going to the park, much to the dismay of my pooches. puppy

I plan on trying to get some of my games to play again today, maybe on my desktop. smirk

I keep getting these flash-backs of being in different games, and it gives me a feeling of nostalgia that makes me want to go play the game. yes

Does anybody else get those feelings? sherlock

Well I'm off to work on it. I spent hours yesterday tinkering with one laptop that I never could get to play my game. It was 80 Days, and I'm majorly upset that I can't get it to play. mad

TTYL everyone. wave2

Hello Boomers, I hope everyone is well and having a great day!

I haven't been around for a while as I have been in poor health. I recovered well from the heart attack I had last year but have since developed other health problems which has meant I have had to give up my cake business, gutted at that! sad Seven weeks ago my hubby, who has been brilliant since I've been ill, also suffered a heart attack though thankfully he's home and doing really well. Don't know where we'd be without our kids who have all been fantastic.

Since giving up the cakes, I've taken up making greetings cards as I find it very hard to sit around doing nothing. There's much less stress involved with this and I don't have to be on my feet most of the day.

We haven't had our summer break as yet but we're hoping to get away soon. I hope the weather picks up as it's been pretty dire so far. Typical Scottish summer...rain, rain and more rain! rotfl

I hope to drop by more often now. Enjoy the rest of your day guys!

Happy to see you back Mary! So sorry about all the problems, but it wounds like you are meeting all the challenges. bravo

Weird weather here. It's supposed to be hot summer, and we had about 2 weeks of hot and humid. When I say hot, I mean in the low to mid 80's and the humidity makes it a bit nasty. But now it's overcast every morning. Cool dark, hard to get out of bed. Only thing that gets me up is trying to figure out what my Tenant's are up to now. They are driving me nutty (again).

Super Saturday ya'll puppy

I'm watching Cats 101 this morning. Lots of pretty babies catrub

Today is supposed to be low key. Birthdays are behind us, so think it will be junk food and board games today.

Joe, loved the jokes. Thanks.

Mary, so glad to see you whenever you can drop by. Sorry to hear that your and hubby's health has been challenging. Gentle hugs!

Feels like 106 right now, so I will be staying in. Maybe a nap is calling me. wavegirl

I'd say good morning but it's now afternoon so good afternoon. Mary it's so good to hear from you. Sending gentle hugs to you and your hubby.

I need to be at work for 5:00 today. We're supposed to get horrendous downpours later today. Not complaining though. We really need the rain. I hope everyone is having a great Saturday.

I wonder if it's illegal to put a close up security camera right at my Tenant's door? devil rotfl

One of the gals down there looks more like a man's physique. I'm having trouble counting 'my chickens'. I think it's still only 6 of them. They are all taking turns going shopping and just brought home about 6 cases of bottled water, more cases of soda, lots of smaller 'meat sized' packages, etc. Either they are going to have a huge party, OR they are stocking up for the Zombie Apocalypse, or the are planning to stay at least another week. Geez, I just spelled Apocalypse RIGHT. Must be going to have a good day. joy

No worries on the zombies. I found my extra security camera that I never installed and put it out back, facing the Tenant's cars. Now I can see who gets in and out of the cars. I will be able to count heads (even zombie ones). It's also something I'd planned to do long ago with all the thefts in our area and especially with TWO of them in MY driveway. I already have signs up on the driveway entrance which tell everyone they are under video surveillance. Should be no problem unless the 'new' guy down there decides to push his 'law' background. Duh. He does not impress me. I am not amused.
