I just started the prologue and am experiencing a techinical glitch. There's a point where Garret is performing a series of dead-easy jumps, but he gets to one jump and just won't jump. Instead he looks down, and that's it, over and over. Okay, I get that he's way up on the roof, but big whoop. It's a 2-foot jump.
I've looked at Youtube walkthroughs and I'm right -- It's just a simple jump. It's just that Garret won't do it.
Obviously I need some help here -- but I can't find any forums associated with the game.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I eventually discovered what was wrong. It's an interesting tutorial that only gives you half the information you need: One jump, two jumps, three jum...no, wait, that one is a running jump. Sure, it's no farther than the last two jumps, but we want you to make a running jump now. We just won't tell you that. And we won't tell you how to do it, either. Nyah, Nyah. Neeneer neener.

Yes, the map stinks. I know I can go somewhere where there are docks, and a merchant who sells some tools I needed for some of the wuests I just did, but I just can't find the place. And I can'tfind a guide anywhere to show me how to get there. Very frustrating. I may have to resort to violence and knock out all the guards so I can roam freely without running into them all the time. Trouble is, they roam in pairs, so I'll have to kill them...which violates my no-kill policy. But, you know, needs must.

Traveling to the docks, there is a gate that gave me fits. It is very well guarded and it is hard to knock out one without the others noticing. I was able to sneak by finally. It gets easier on further tries. Past that gate, there is an area where I had a hard time finding a path forward. This map may help... http://guides.gamepressure.com/thief/guide.asp?ID=24068

Thanks Pokey.
My problem is that I can't find the way to get to the dock area from the Market (where the clock tower is). I've been wandering around for days and can't locate the entrance. And because I haven't got the tools, I had to miss out on loot on two missions.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

But I've been there a hundred times, where it says "crates" at the bottom of the map, and there are no crates, just a gate that I can't interact with. I'm standing right there, right now, and I can't go anywhere else.
And that map also shows a window you can go through and come out onto the other map, and I went there and searched and there is no such window. It just isn't there.
Edit -- anyway, I decided to go on into Chapter 2 without the tools. And once I was done with that, the window WAS there. You need to be in Chapter 2, apparently.
And saaaaayyyyy....some of those Foundry guards sound just like my double-dealing ex, Solas, that rat-eared, false-faced elven wolf-lord, a.k.a. David Gareth-Lloyd. Lovely Welsh accent. He can whisper sweet Solas lies or grumble guardly nonsense and it all sounds wonderful.
