Hi All,

Early in the game's WIKI-walkthrough it says if you lower left side of revolving bridge first, the "Game Breaks". Does anyone know the specifics of what they are referring to or knows of somerone I can ask who is working on this walkthrough? I initially did this and I am having strange things happening and would like to know if these are already known or not.

Hi Mr Bill

Once the bridge is turned to the left you wont be able to move it back until later in the game. It is supposed to be that way. I assume you have already lowered the stairs on the right side. I finished the game early this morning and, WOW, what a game. Do you have a link to that walkthrough as I want to read what they say.

It Turned Properly so that the walkway railing is on the left and that night I realized that with the left down it should have turned the other way. I can redo it and some walkthroughs suggest turning it back in order to use the blue laser on some rock in this area. I'm enjoying the game, but my vision problem is making some places quite difficult. So I am trying to layout all the steps carefully so that Lela doesn't get bored with my snails pace. For me this game has become a super challenge, Trying to remember how to get from here to there in potentially a variety of ways in a sorta mega maze. I can no longer take pictures and in another time the screen took on a much brighter view. I was playing with the blue laser (after eliminating the red beam) when the screen brightened greatly (maybe 20 minutes later) and stayed that way. I had to go back to an earlier save and do things again. The link for the walkthrough is:

Yes, I loved the game because it is so challenging. Did you already lower the stairway on the upper right side of the propeller bridge ?

There is another walkthrough here http://guides.gamepressure.com/obduction/guide.asp?ID=37116 that you may want to try, it's more detailed. To date the ending is still under 'construction'. Me - I have just finished it, approx 22 hours!!think this is average. Have fun..

Wow, 22 hours without the help of hints, that incredible.

I did resort to a peep at some hints (Steam mainly) But because I like to fiddle with things myself first any step by step walkthroughs didn't apply. The main things I found was to take your time with this game, no sense in rushing things, and take frequent breaks as an old brain (66) does get a bit jumbled up especially with all the teleporting you need to do.
There is a speedthrough on Youtube and the game is completed in 1hr 16 mins. I don't see any pleasure in this as exploration is a huge part of this game.

Hey! Upsydaisy, You're still a Spring Chicken. Got 13 years on you. Thank you for the walkthrough. It is a nice one. Is it true that they are still working on the ending of the game?

It used to be that I solved a problem and then Lela joined me to see the result. She is not the puzzler - just give me the story is her way. She did work hard with me to solve MYST, though. Do to failing health for both of us, we are less patient. I still work at the puzzles, but my vision now interferes. Unfortunately, I click on things that may interfere with my game's function or even the computer's function. Supposedly I ordered a movie on cable that I didn't know about until I was billed for it. Paying bills is now in itself a great adventure. My daughter thinks I should quit playing games. No Way!

GreyFuss:- Last night I moved the bridge (walkway) back as it was before and then lowered the right side so that I could once again get through the wall. So I could move it again. I will see if I can turn it back once again.

Ireallly hope that they don't end me this game am abacker but never knew about system specs until afterwards don't think that I will back them again in the near future anyway not all of us can afford to upgrade our computers guess that they never thought of us at all.anyway its going right back to them when it does arrive. don't get me wrong but it was ok to help out just this once. Have to say I've found this topic encouraging, as an older gamer and feel better about getting lost all the time. I too have moved the bridge and can't as yet get it back to where it was. My plan was to explore the left side of the river and see what is on the art easel(too curious)Glad to read it can be turned back later, thank you. I love the exploration and visuals in the game, which is a puzzling maze in it's self.

Just wish I could spend a whole day or 3 playing it.

I think that's a great approach. My neighbor took 2 years to finish Riven because he refused to get hints or help.

I finished it and I was able to use the rotating bridge later. I could not remember all of the ways to get from here to there. I'd get somewhere and then explore all over until something clicked in my head. I've worn holes in my shoes, slippers, jeans, etc., Run several marathons and many hours later finally got it done. Loved It!

Hi Bill,
Congratulations on finishing the game. I've not played for over a week now due to work, and being too tired at night, but will get back into it soon. Looking forward to running marathons, even if they are in circles
