Duke begins his journey in Duke Grabowski: Mighty Swashbuckler, launching on PC and Mac October 6th.September 16, 2016 - From one of adventure gaming’s most creative minds, Bill Tiller (The Curse of Monkey Island, Steven Spielberg's The Dig, Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine, A Vampyre Story) presents the first installment in the saga of Duke Grabowski: Duke Grabowski: Mighty Swashbuckler, coming to PC and Mac on October 6th, 2016.
Duke Grabowski is the comedic tale about the toughest of the pirates and his quest to become captain. There’s just one problem; Duke must first prove to his crew that he’s the most swashbuckling-est of the swashbucklers by “sea-ducing” three women in Bodacious Bay. But, as he sets off on his challenge, Duke just might learn that there’s more to love and leadership than the size of your muscles.
A blend of modern and classic adventure styles, Duke Grabowski: Mighty Swashbuckler features the wonderfully intricate art of Bill Tiller, inventory and dialog puzzles, and good old-fashioned pirate mischief across three installments.

I like Steam so it wouldn't matter to me, but if I was promised a DRM Free and that is all I used, I would expect my money back for sure. Ana

I got that update as well, and I'm not happy about it. I'm not going to e-mail them though (even though I should) because it seems like too much of a hassle when I only pledged at the lowest tier. However, for any of their Kickstarters in the future, I will most likely wait until the game releases and pick it up then. I do use Steam when there's no other option - I would miss out on a lot of really good games otherwise - but I always choose GOG or some other DRM free site when given the option. And as that was a promise in their Kickstarter, I hope they find a way to honor it.

I feel for the developers because it doesn't seem to be their doing but I also feel for those that absolutely refuse to use Steam. It's almost like getting a Mac key and you purchased a Win. Not really fair. Ana
