Well, after much detective work and a mistake by a radiologist, they have finally figured out why I am forming blood clots and why I had those pulmonary embolisms in July. To make a long tortured story short, I will be having surgery tomorrow at 4:00. I can't wait to have this over and done with, so am actually looking forward to it!
I will have my Surface tablet with me and hopefully by Tuesday afternoon I will have my wits about me enough to post some messages about how it went!
Once again, weeds are my life!

I'm here! They tell me I am doing much better than they would expect for someone who had major surgery less that 24 hours ago. I'm up and about by myself and drinking my morning coffee right now! Of course, I'm sore as hell with 5 small incisions in my abdomen, but nothing I can't handle. I'll avoid the narcotics like plague if I can. I had a complete hysterectomy and a large mass removed. It doesn't look like anything according to the surgeon, but I will find out more about the pathology today. I will keep you posted, but I am feeling pretty good for an old broad!

I'm thinking the same way as Jenny100 about the large mass. Please let us know when you have more news. We are all concerned & thinking of you. Please get a lot of rest. Really great that you are up & drinking coffee .

Well, believe it or not, I'm home! I slept for a couple of hours and thought I was going to die getting up out of the bed with no railings! Think I need to get a small pillow to hold on my stomach.
Doctor says this is a marginal mass – not the right word, but I can’t think of it right now – which means it is not cancer, but may have cells which could become cancer. He will have a plan for what he wants to do when I go see him again in 2 weeks. He said this is something they even treat with chemo, but he will have to look a little deeper at what it is. And yes, Jenny, it is most likely the cause of the blood clots.
I guess he had quite a time during surgery. He had decided at the last minute to do it with laproscopy. This mass is way too big to get out that way, so he was going to “bag it” along with the ovary and pull out my vagina. But he couldn’t make it work, so he had to make two MORE incisions to get it out... so than makes 5 small incisions. The pain isn’t there though, but in my lower abdomen where he “assaulted me” getting everything out! I was in the OR for almost 3 hours, of course worrying Dave to death.
So now, it’s just time, time time...
Once again, weeds are my life!

That's it! Borderline - the word wouldn't pop into my head! Surgeon didn't seem to think it was, but he will be looking at it in more depth before I go back in 2 weeks.
Even if I would have had to open surgery, I would have only been in for 2 or 3 days. Since mine was laproscopy, he tossed me out in 1 day! They gave me a special abdominal block which was two injections in the lower layer of the skin which was supposed to help with the surgical pain. And it did - until it wore off this afternoon!
Once again, weeds are my life!

I had three incisions for my appendectomy and remembering not to use your stomach muscles was murder! Two I didn't feel it at all but one he cut the muscle and it was quite painful. Rolling over to your side before you attempt to get up helps. I'm glad its something treatable Drac, hopefully without chemo. Time to rest and heal.

Happy to hear you are home Drac! Hopefully when you see the doctor in 2 weeks he will have good news on the "mass" he removed. Take care and don't over do! Love, Hugs, and Prayers heading your way! Gerry

WooHoo, Drac, so glad you are home. Yes, a pillow for your tummy and rolling over on your side to get up will both help. Let someone else take care of you for a while and move around as you can. Gentle hugs.

Goals for yesterday were trying to eat a little bit and to get a shower. Only managed a half a piece of toast and some cottage cheese, but by golly I got that shower! Baby steps, I guess!
Oldbroad, I couldn't imagine NOT going to a doctor for something so potentially serious!

Thank you, Tracy. Had my post-op appointment today and I will not need any further treatment at all other than followups for awhile! Yippee! Don't have to go back for 6 months.

I'm working on building my strength back up. This inactivity has not been good for my mind, body or soul! Going to start walking down to the woods and back a couple of times a day. Had hubby start bringing the onions and garlic which have been curing in the barn over to the garage so I can start working them up a little at a time.
