Hi. I'm playing GK1 and I can't seem to trigger the end of day 2, and without major spoilers, I'm hoping if someone can nudge me as to what I've got left to accomplish in my day.
I've talked to the museum owner, been referred to the voodooienne (got snake skin and got my symbols translated), got the symbols and badge from Mosely, interviewed Malia and was thrown out and Grace is busy researching the old french lady for me.
I've got a couple ideas, but I'm not sure which ones (if any) to pursue.
1) Do I try to get a snake scale sample from the museum snake today?
2) Do I try to figure out the coded message and reply?
3) Do I further pursue Malia Gedde?
4) Do I try to buy the crocodile mask?
5) Do I try to identify the "other marked tombs"?

Basically I'm just wondering what day
objective(s) do I have left to complete?

Thanks,
William
(Please only hints to trigger the end of day 2)

I don't think any of the things you listed are the triggers.

What did you do with the snakeskin? Did you compare it to something in your inventory?

If not, you might have to head back to the crime scene.

I've already compared it to the scale found at the crime scene (automatically just by looking at it with the magnifying glass).
I must be being hung up by a small trigger... looks like a lot of walking and re-examining for me.
Thanks

Hi, WRMW!

Did you help the artist in Jackson Square retrieve his lost drawing? He'll do you a favor in return.

Thanks susan!
I sure haven't; I haven't even returned to the square in day 2! (although I do remember spotting the artist through the binoculars).
Hopefully this is what I need.

Hi, WRMW!

You're welcome! I think the artist is the key to moving on to Day 3 because that seems to be the only thing you haven't done.

Whenever you find you're at a standstill, revisit each location because things are always a-changing <G>!

Good luck, and holler if you need any more help.

Susan

I seem to be unstuck and progressing well, thanks for that!
I feel kind of foolish because I always go over everywhere... of course I missed the one important place.

Thanks again

Hi, WRMW!

I'm glad you're unstuck, but there's no reason to feel foolish because it's easy to overlook something.

Have fun with the rest of the game. The Gabriel Knight series is one of my favorites.

Have you played the other two yet, or are you just starting out?

Susan

I've already played both other games and loved them. I had many difficulties running GK2, and GK3 had its share of problems, but they were both worth it. GK3 has become my new favorite game and GK2 is pretty close -- and the way GK1's going, it'll be too.

But I've also managed to get myself stuck again. I'm in day 3 and I've finally gotten in to see cazaunaux, but I'm not sure how to pursuade her to give me the bracelet. I'm pretty positive I'm needing an inventory item that I don't have as I've tried nearly everything I have.
So if there's any hint you could give me as to the object I need (if it is indeed an object I'm missing). Perhaps as to its general location, or maybe an idea what I actually use it for? Just need a little nudge in the right direction.

Thanks

wave Hi WRMV!

It may not be an inventory item you need, but part of the conversation you have to trigger. Have you asked her about all the topics you can? Do you have clay in your inventory?

Hi, WRMW!

You will never convince Madame Cazaunoux to give you her bracelet, but an item in your inventory will allow you to make a good impression anyway.

Argg! I'm stuck again!

I'm in day four and not sure what to do now. I've gotten the bracelet, talked to mosely and proved the cult is a threat (but can't figure out how to prove it exists or find a lead), I've already tracked down crash, talked to him and gotten his tattoo. I've asked Grace for research on rada drums... what else is there to do!?
Unfortunatly I'm leaving early in the AM, so I won't be able to get your help for a few days, but I had to post anyhow because I'm very frustrated.
I wanted to continue tonight, so I consulted UHS and a WT, both of which tell me to call Wolfgang, but it won't let me! I still don't know who he is. I asked grandma knight, but she didn't have any useful info. UHS also wanted me to ask about heinz ritter back in day 1, which I'm still not allowed to do. I also haven't opened the clock, because it hasn't seemed time (there's no reason to try, and I have no ideas to go on), which UHS does in the first day... is this essential for progress and if so perhaps a clue?
Thanks... I'm getting anxious to play!

Grandma Knight won't talk about Wolfgang until you move the clock in the attic and open the trunk and do the puzzles there. This has to be what's holding you up.

Good luck!

Hi, WRMW!

Certain necessary tasks must be completed in order to progress to the next day, while other necessary tasks can be carried over, but still must be completed eventually. Some tasks are optional and you can still finish the game without completing them.

The clock puzzle in Grandma Knight's attic should have been completed during Day 1, but can be carried over until Day 4. Unfortunately, you can't progress to Day 5 until you've called Wolfgang and, until you open the clock and are able to ask Gradma Knight about the family tree and Wolfgang's name comes up, Gabriel has no idea who he is.
