In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is.

Dating is complicated. You don’t believe us? Here are some examples:

Right after we broke up, my ex-girlfriend called to ask how to change her relationship status on Facebook.

I got into a 90-minute argument with my girlfriend because she was adamant that Moby Dick was a true story. I finally let her win so I could go to sleep.

My now ex-girlfriend and I were in my room one day, and the Internet was particularly slow. After I complained, she suggested that I untangle my Ethernet cord so that more Internet could get through.

I recently joined an online dating site, and one of my matches was my first cousin.

The food at the sandwich shop
I frequent is good, but any deviation from the norm throws the staff. I once told a clerk that I wanted only half a sandwich. His reply: “What am I going to do with the other half?” A week later, when I told another clerk the same thing, she responded, “Do you want the top or the bottom?”

Which half has the mustard on it? smile

Here’s a guide to American
culture for Russians visiting the U.S., straight from Russian tour books:

“Women play a greater role in business. Often they insist to be treated exactly as an equal and not as a lady.”

“As a rule, the [social] invitation will be only on a weekend, and you don’t have to prepare for something extravagant. Everything is the same as ours, only with far less booze.”

“‘See you later’ should not be taken literally. That is a courtesy,
and no more.”

`````````````````
The last time we changed from daylight saving time, a preacher friend posted, “For those who habitually show up 15 minutes late to church, allow me to remind you that tonight is the night you set your clock back 45 minutes.”
Yeah but what time is the sermon over so I can set my alarm. rolleyes
`````````````````

I’ve given up social media for the New Year and am trying to make friends outside Facebook while
applying the same principles. Every day, I walk down the street and tell passersby what I’ve eaten, how I feel, what I did the night before, and what I will do tomorrow. Then I give them pictures of my family, my dog, and me gardening. I also listen to their conversations and tell them I love them. And it works. I already have three people following me—two
police officers and a psychiatrist.

If this has happened to you too please 'like', and comment "This has happened to me too" and hit 'share'. cool

How can you ever be late for anything in London? They have
a huge clock right in the middle
of the town.

Who's in charge of that thing when it's time to Fall back? headscratch

``````````````
Dear Charlie,
We’ve been neighbors for six tumultuous years. When you borrowed my snowblower, you returned it in pieces. When I was sick, you blasted Metallica. And when your dog decorated my lawn, you laughed. I could go on, but I’m not one to hold grudges. So I am writing this letter to tell you that your house is on fire.
Cordially, Harry
My friends tell me that cooking is easy, but it’s not easier than not cooking.
I heard that. taz
I’m driving with this guy, and
he runs right through a Stop sign. So
I say, “Hey, that was a Stop sign.” And he says, “I drive like my brother!”
A few blocks later, he plows right through a red light. I say, “You just ran a red light.” And he says, “I drive like my brother!”
So now we’re coming up on a green light, and he slows down. I’m confused, so I say, “It’s green; why are you slowing down?”
He says, “My brother might be coming.”
A Twitter exchange between an angry customer and an apologetic Domino’s Pizza:
Customer: Yoooo I ordered a Pizza
& Came with no Toppings on it or anything, Its Just Bread
Domino’s: We’re sorry to hear about this!
Customer (a few seconds later): Never mind, I opened the pizza upside down.
From now on could you please label it "Open from this end"?
Scratch that, I don't like reading a lot. crazy
Good morning everyboomie.
Welcome to the weekend! I thought it would never get here. penguin
Saturday we're in the 90's again, and then Sunday the rain starts for like 2 days, and 3 inches of rain, and 70 degree temperatures. joy2
Good morning Joe! I think that would be nice or you could even incorporate a third color. Hubby liked it the way you painted it.
SpaceQ, hope you can get a park run in today!
Have a happy day all! I have a friends birthday party tonight and the day is free.
Good Morning everyone. Joe the kitchen looks nice! I like the cabinet doors painted with the 2 colors, but it might be to busy with them all painted like that. Coffee and tea are ready.Hubby has been sick with cold and cough for the last week or so and now I've got it. Started with a sore throat yesterday and difficulty swallowing. Hope you all have a great day! fall
I like the two-tone Joe. But if it was my kitchen, and I LOVE the black appliances, I'd change out the cabinet knobs to a nice shiny black, (maybe some antique looking glass ones.) Just my preference. It would draw the eye around the room from appliances to the entire room. Just a visual trick to make the room look larger as the eye sweeps all across.
Good morning everybody. It feels like afternoon already to me. It was my sincere intention to sleep in this morning, but I woke up at around 5:00, and could not go back to sleep, so I got up at 5:30. slapforehead
I had things I wanted to do early, like mowing the yard. As soon as it got light outside I decided to start mowing, and ensure that none of my neighbors slept any later. snicker
It's overcast and humid, but it's breezy outside, so I didn't overheat too bad while trimming. My weedeater was about 10 pounds heavier when I was done though. razz
I'm about done for a while. I may take a nap now, and work on the kitchen later.
Thanks for the input on the kitchen doors everyone. I painted another one with the same color as the original wall color, but I'm still not sure about it. duh
I'm not overly concerned about it because I plan on eventually putting new cabinet doors on, because they didn't do a good job on the ones that are on now. Some are a little warped, and some barely cover the opening.
I'm just not ready to spend the money on new doors just yet. smile
L4L I'm very sorry to hear about your son losing his beloved pet. frown
Enjoy your day everyone.
joe
Super Saturday ya'll puppy
Semi-busy day here. Boys will be here in a bit.
Thanks, Joe. Love the quote.
I'm the minority...I like the kitchen cabinets one color, though I think I'd paint a 2 or 3 shade Swoosh across them all....make the eye follow all around and add curves. However, we took off the cabinet doors on the most used cabinets when we moved in here. Left a couple with doors to hide "clutter" but it makes it so much easier for me to "find" things....no doors to open and an incentive not to let it clutter up cos it's visible all the time.
Thanks for the hugs, Connie. Have fun at trivia.
I'm voting no on the blue. Love blue but not in kitchens. For some reason I think blue is a bathroom color. Still liking the plain white or what you had it before. Actually for easy non-painting stuff, just put glass inserts on the top cupboards. Easy and you can see everything inside (forces you to be neat). Also makes the kitchen look larger. I had my brother-in-law do mine and I love them. My kitchen is a 1944 edition. Glass on top really opened it up. Then I painted the ceiling 'schoolhouse red'. Awesome. All white with a red ceiling. Very fun.
