Been a couple of years since I last did one of these. (Because they're !*^#$ hard work! lol )

Below are a number of clues, in no particular order (as ever evil ). String the answers to roughly half the clues them together in the right order, and you’ll find the answers to the rest of the clues reading backwards. Being all heart, I’ve given you the length of the string that you’re looking for.

An example (8 letters) :

Break out
Money owing
Resting place
Unsullied

ERUPTBED (erupt + bed, debt + pure backwards)

Extended clues added

-1. (16 letters)
Gardening implement
Infusion of malt
Large group of naval vessels
Salt or ester of citric acid
Short written prose composition
Supernatural being

-2. (23 letters)
Used for clay pigeon shooing
Electronic music standard
Hispanic store, usually liquor
Infertile, unproductive, unfruitful
Irrationally extreme in opinion or practice
Part of a pen
Representation or likeness, photo etc
Spouse, "significant other", person closely associated with another
Workhorse, usually slow, plodding; also name for such a horse

-3. (35 letters)
Schedule/list of charges, duties ets
Device for converting mechanical energy into electrical energy
Eat greedily
Evergreen tree
Texan fort
Frank Herbet novel
Hiding place, especially of animals
Large number, more than one
Lay bare
Make the sound of cattle
Musical note, equivalent to 2 whole notes (UK) or double whole note (US)
Part of grammar
Pertaining to one of the two upper chambers of the heart
Short musical piece, usually light
Tropical disease

To waste one second of one's life is a betrayal of one's self.
I wonder what's on television...?

Clues made a bit more helpful(!). smile

If no success by tomorrow, will split clues into "forward" and "backward"

Life is what happens while you're making other plans.
