Hi

I have Dreamfall Chapters in my GOG Library and will eventually be playing it on Win7 64-bit.

Can anyone advise as to whether I will need to download all three of the patches that are listed for 64-bit ??

If you got it from GOG, it should already be fully patched. Or are you saying the patches are listed in the library at GOG? If they are, then you will probably need all of them. Sometimes there is a cumulative patch, so you might read what is said about each of them.

Yes. My GOG Library Page shows four game parts to download (for 64-bit) plus three patches (also for 64-bit).
But no indication as to what the patches are for or whether they are all required

So I also looked for a forum for the game (as people often ask the same questions I would ask in a forum) but couldn't find one !!

Hopefully someone who has already fathomed it will see my post and be able to offer advice

I would guess the patches are for people who've already downloaded a previous version of the game -- and don't want to download that huge multi-gigabyte thing all over again in order to get the latest version.

Why do I think that? Because every time I've downloaded a game from GOG plus it's patch, installed the game, and then attempted to install the patch, I've gotten a message that I'm already at the version the patch is supposed to patch up to.

What do the patches fix? They're probably bug fixes at this point. The first version of the game used a different game engine than the current one though. Check the size of the patches.

My question wasn't about Obduction - but maybe what you've said will also apply to Dreamfall Chapters ??

Mad, you can find the GOG forum for Dreamfall Chapters here. They put all the Longest Journey/Dreamfall questions into one forum.

An explanation of patches can be found in this thread. It's a bit confusing because they talk about Dreamfall Chapters as well as the Dreamfall Chapters Season Pass, but maybe you can go through the thread and find some useful information.

But even after ploughing through lots of posts there, I couldn't find anything that answered my specific query so have posted a question myself and I'll let you know if I get any help
