I'm desperately seeking some help with this game. Just began and have searched everywhere and done everything I can think of including the in-game hints, but I cannot advance at all. I've searched for help on the internet but have found absolutely nothing. I'm trying to find the combination for the keypad. Can anyone help?

I should talk to someone. There are only two people I can talk to so far - the clown and the exorcist's assistant - and neither give me a dialog option to ask for the combination. There are so few places you can interact with ANYTHING that it is maddening. I liked the first Oz Orwell SO MUCH BETTER than this one ... at least so far.

I'm wondering if there are new places you should go to.
I'm just speculating here.
Maybe best to ask the developer here.

I cannot find one single place, or one single thing to do beyond what I've done dozens of time. I have emailed the developer and am hoping for some help. So far, the in-game hints have been worthless. Each place, and each scene, only has a couple of "hot spots". I'm really ready to hang it up.

What we all need here, fellow Boomers, is a good walkthrough. I've been searching for one, but no luck as yet. Maybe it's because the game is so new. I started off the game by entering the building and visiting the UNLOCKED rooms on each floor, getting hints here and there from some of the rooms visited. My next move will be going up to the third floor and checking out all of the UNLOCKED rooms on THAT floor. After that I don't have a clue as to my next move. HAPPY GAMING!

It's good to know that I am not alone in my frustration. I've done the exact same thing over and over also. I'm going to keep checking to see if any Boomers have any success and will share if I can continue at some point.

I too am playing this game. There are some you tube videos out. I just googled the name of the game.

I'll see if this is a game I can play. It might take time but I'll try.

Hi Doreen, I saw a couple of things on YouTube about this game, but no walkthroughs as yet (unless I'm missing something). wave

I keep going back over and over and over the 3 floors and few doors I can access. I've found a couple of items that seemingly are unusable. I'm not giving up! I'll keep trying and keep checking the internet for clues! The game developer emailed me with one hints ... you have to record 6 ghosts in order to meet with The Exorcist. I've recorded two, I think, but stuck there.

That's more than I have. I have only recorded the musician. I tried to record the clown, but couldn't. I have found 2 scraps of paper and a doll, seen the woman through the hole in the wall from room 203, and that's about it so far.

I'm working on finding the code for the keypad.
I also need to find more at room 101.
The other ghost at the corridor and Fjord were too fast for me. The clown can't be recorded.

No. It's a locked room at the basement. You get the key by talking to one of the residents.

The keypad is right below the symbol in the torture room.

Hi Mag,
I really was not "hinting" when I mentioned the need for a walkthrough for this game. I'm sure you have plenty of things on your plate that are more important than this.HOWEVER, you are the best at what you do, bar NONE. I've been a Boomer for quite a while now, and without your help, there are most games that I just couldn't figure out, if it weren't for your great walkthroughs. I believe that I'm speaking for ALL of us Boomers who rely on your help. Thank You for being here for us.

I remember when I talked to the clown he mentioned a key right in front of me, but I didn't get one. I checked my inventory, and it is not there. I think I may have to restart the game.

Doreen,

Move a bit towards you and then you will see that the key is where you were standing before. He dropped it on the floor.

Sandy,
Thanks very much. I'm glad that I can still help a bit.
Earlier, I had to stop playing. Still need some time to rest before going back to the game.

My needs right now in the game:
- find out something at room 101 (chair on bed - hanging???).
- find out the mirror clue.
- get the code for the keypad.
- get an image of the symbol.
- get Fjord to come back after lying in bed and monster in bed.
- get a storybook.
- get more ghost pics.
While I rest - maybe someone can drop hints for those. Hehehehehehe.

MaG you are awesome as usual. However, my needs are exactly as those you just described, although I was able to film the "unusual spot" in 101 and look in the mirror to see Winston. Accomplishing those two things HAS NOT allowed me to advance! Yikes this is tough!

The viola has the number 432 on it ... I tried that on the keypad, but it didn't work. Eeeek!

Talk to Eric about it and learn why he has 432 and he will describe more. luck

This is definitely NOT my kind of game.
I left OZ in a weird place in his head. Ugh. eek

Now I need the bow for the viola. I have the string though.

I believe it is the second or maybe the third trip to one of the lit platform (can't remember which one); you will see a clown popup from a hole. It is supposed to be a mustache but is the viola string.

Did you find the bow already? sleep

What is a lit platform? The only area I've seen that has any light is the room with the blown out wall. I found an empty cup there.
I also found an empty tin can. I have NO idea what either of those things can do for me. The things I REALLY NEED I can't find. Wow this game is frustrating. I like in-game hints that really help.

bootskitty,
Have you been through the trap door yet and did some stuff at the cave?
If so, I'm not sure if my game hiccupped because I went to the exorcist's office after the cave and started a whole new "world" outside of the asylum. That is where I got sort of down about this game.

Sandy,
If you're playing the game - please ask questions. I might not continue with this game.

MaG ... good grief you are SO FAR ahead of me it isn't even funny. How do you do it? Trap door? Cave? I haven't gotten ANYWHERE beyond filming 3 ghosts (Winston, Eric and "the special place" in room 101. I know I need 6 to continue. I need the keypad code .. I need to film more ghosts .. I need to MOVE beyond going to the same rooms on the same 3 floors over and over and over again. If you can get me to the trap door (cave?) I would be SO APPRECIATIVE. I just want to get SOMEWHERE beyond those dark, dreary rooms in the asylum!

I didn't even film Winston - I think. Just Eric and the one in 101. Then later the one at the cave.
You might need 6 to end the game but - right now - go ahead and do the keypad code, cave, go to exorcist office and do some weird gaming.
- keypad code - talk to Eric after seeing what is written on the viola. He will mention the # used by the Nazi doctors to mess with patients.
- do the keypad.
- do the cave.
- go to exorcist office.

I finished that weird place and left the game after I arrived in purgatory. I need to refresh myself. Hahahahaha.

------------------
Wait, I did interact with ghosts - 101, Winston, Eric, clown, Fjord and the one at the cave.
Maybe seeing is enough and not necessarily film them.

Unfortunately, I talked to Erich after I looked at the viola, but if he mentioned a number, I don't remember. I see 432 on the viola, but that number doesn't work on the keypad. Now when I try to talk to Erich, he just says he's going to play the viola; I can't get any nazi conversation from him. Can you give me a keypad number to try?

See if you can check the viola again - then talk to Eric.

If not:
Click to reveal..
Eric talks that the Nazis play music at 440 mHz to the patients. He plays at 432 and also mentions learning the 8th ??note?? - can't remember now.

Thanks for the keypad hint. It worked. Unfortunately, now I'm just wandering around first the cave and now the paths. The more I accomplish, the less I accomplish ... huh?

As a hint for the paths:
- do the left one - church first.
- then do the Victorian house.
- check the collapsed bridge and anything there.
- concentrate on doll house.
- check all the rooms several times. They change. Irritated me a bit.

Thanks for these hints, Mag.
So far I've been to every UN-LOCKED room in the house, found everything I could about EVERYTHING, and I'm trying to "exit" to a new location, but the game won't let me. Apparently I'm missing something, but I have no idea what that or those are. Maybe somebody can give me a little "push" in the right direction? I will, at this point, revisit every room, and maybe I'll be able to find "stuff" that I missed before. Right now I have a lot of things in my inventory.but surely I've missed "stuff" along the way. I'm sorry that you are not very "enamored" with this game. The only reason that I am continuing playing it is because I'm Tenacious------ ok the word should be "stubborn". LOL

Sandy,

Hints:
- whenever you enter a room - use the meter on OZ. It will tell you if there is something in that room.
- there is a room on the first floor (can't remember which one) that states it is locked but you can enter. Check that one also.
- there are notes in several room (I think 3) that will trigger actions.
---- one in kitchen, one in mirror room, geez - can't remember the third. (That's what happens when I don't take notes and just try to get it over with).
- talk to all characters that you can several times - dialogue gets added.
- be sure to check all floors including the basement.

I'm in the dollhouse and have found a stone rod that I can put into the slot (hole) in the door with the stairs that lead nowhere.
I now, it seems, need to make sense of the letters .. co gi er um to go I think. Nothing seems to make sense. Any ideas here? So far the church is off limits; I'm not crazy enough, apparently, to go through the door in the house, and the bridge has collapsed. I can only interact with the dollhouse. I have a gift box I can't open, a floppy disk, a cassette and one or two other things as I lost all of my inventory when arriving on the "paths". This is one crazy game!

This hint forum is the absolute only place I've found anything at all on Oz Orwell-2. This is just such an amazing, and helpful, site for adventure games.

Thanks. Glad we can help you.

Stone rod: You got the clue twice in the game - one that I can pinpoint is at that stack of books in a room with radio, stove, sink, bed etc..
It is the Latin - I think therefore I am. Cogito ergo sum.
Gift box - I didn't have problem opening that one. Maybe right click it in inventory.

I FINISHED THE GAME. Thank you so very much for your helpful hints. They were exactly what I needed. The most deceiving part of the game is this ... most of the inventory items found are never used. I actually liked the game, but it was just way too dark; even with the gamma turned up, it was almost impossible to see much. Gameboomers, as always, is just the best resource for adventure games on the internet.

I can't believe I'm doing this and asking this ... I'm playing the game again and tossed my notes like an idiot. I cannot find the place where I found the note that refers to the "bump in the wallpaper" and I must find that to continue. Does anyone remember the location?

Is that the one in the chest under Madame Blavatsky's portrait?

Do you want to take notes now, send it to me and I can formulate it to a walkthrough? grin

thanks, Mag, for telling me about the meter. I'm going to run through the house again and pick up that key which will open the basement door. Moving along now, thanks to YOU.

Sandy,

After you check basement out:
- talk to Randolph completely.
- get all 3 notes and follow through the clues stated.
- use camera on all ghosts you see (I found not necessary but must talk or interact to all of them).
- talk to clown completely.
- talk to Eric with the viola.

Turns out, it is a note found in the kitchen ... almost impossible to find .. I could definitely NOT SEE IT. I played the entire game again; this time, much quicker, after I found the note about the wallpaper. Very dark and strange game, but fascinating to me nevertheless.

Thanks for these additional hints, Mag. This is where I am now: I found the key in the clown's room after talking to him. I opened the door with the key in the basement, and I used the doll on the pedestal in the doll house room. I also saw "the little girl" after using the doll on the pedestal. I have talked to the "manager" in the room next to the "Exorcist" room. Also talked to the clown again a few more times.I have all 3 notes in my inventory. Now I'm stumped. I can use some additional help from anybody who has been playing this "weird" game, or has already finished it.
Sandy

bTW, I can't read the 3 notes that are in my inventory. Tried to right click on them, but that didn't work. I've forgotten the words that are written on them in order to get some clues. (SIGHS!!!)

Sandy,

Did you follow through the clues of the 3 notes?
Read them by right clicking them in inventory.
If I remember correctly one is what to do with the mirror.
---------
You should be able to read them if you have not done it yet.
-------------

Ok - read a restored saved game:
1. Check the wallpaper (slightly raised part) in room 203.
2. Pity - have not found a useful clue.
3. Look on mirror and say Winston Smith.
luck

This time, I WAS able to read the notes by clicking on them, but it seems that I have ALREADY followed up on those clues on the notes, except for the "pity" note (which I believe is NOT a clue, at all). Apparently, at THIS point I just don't know what I have to know. Should I start the game again from the beginning? i'm so sure that I had spoken to all of the "ghosts", but who knows. LOL Many thanks for bearing with me, Mag.
Sandy

By the way, is the goal to get into the Exorcists' room in order to move on?

Hi Bootskitty,
Congratulations on finishing this game. You must have been doing something right. With all the help I'm getting in this thread, I still cannot proceed any further than seeing "the little girl in the Dollhouse room. HAPPY GAMING!

OK, I walked further into the basement room and saw the symbol, Clicked on the keypad and entered 440, and the trap door opened. In the cave now. All I see is an "orb" and a "stone altar", but no place to go in the cave. Anybody know what my next move should be?

Did you interact with the orb?

You've seen: Eric, Clown, orb, Winston, room 101 ghost and Fjord.
Now see the exorcist.

Help! I am stuck. I am in the room with Charlie the puppet and can't get out. All I have in inventory is a Groucho mask and a bloodied rubber glove. The conversation is always the same.

Any hints please?

I think there's an exit on the left for more actions. Please verify.

there is an exit on the left, but every time Oz tries to go through it Charlie calls him back to talk, but there is no new conversation. I have tried using the glove and the mask on everything there including Oz, to no avail. I did get plus points to say that Oz hated art when I interacted with the Venus de Milo statue. There is also a pillar in the room which I can't do anything with.

Hi again, Bootskitty,
Welcome to Mag's world. This may be the beginning of new career for you. LOL I'm really impressed that you were able to complete this game in such a relatively short time, while some of us are still "floundering around". Good luck on your new venture, and I'm looking forward to your walkthrough. MAG, I also thank YOU for giving Bootskitty the benefit of your knowledge and your experience in order for her to accomplish this.

Thanks so much, Judy and Mag. You two are going to make my gaming life much easier now. I'm almost obsessed about getting to the end of this game. Looking back through this thread, it seems that i'm not the only one, either.
Sandy

P.S. Judy, it's a GREAT walkthrough. Mag must be very proud of you.

So I restarted the game from scratch, followed Judy's (Bootskitty) walkthrough to the letter. and I STILL can't enter the exorcist's office. HELP SOMEBODY PLEASE! LOL. I did everything in the same order according to the walkthrough. I even "filmed" the "orb"

Thanks for getting back to me. Mag.
When I click on the Exorcist's door. Oz says: "I haven't collected enough material yet. Before I interview the Exorcist, I have to get working on the ghosts."
When I click on the HELP icon at upper left of screen, Oz says:"I haven't any ideas at the moment."
So apparently, I have missed something on the way to this point in the game----- even though I've followed the walkthrough word by word. I hope somebody can "fill in the blanks".
Again, thanks, Mag and fellow Boomers. for your patience with me.

Try again on these:
Use the camera on the ghosts that you can interact with (if possible use the camera on them: the mirror, 101, clown, Eric, Fjord and the orb.

Hi again, Mag,
Where do I find FJORD?. I DID use the camera on all of the others you have mentioned, even though Oz could NOT get a picture of the clown. Still stumped here. Thanks again for coming to my aid, AGAIN.

I didn't get a camera shot of Fjord myself and didn't find her after all interactions are complete. So you're done with her.
Eric is the one with the viola and told you the code for the trap door.
I presume you also saw the ghost through the hole on the wall?
You got the cup, bloody glove inventory?
You checked the altar and orb in the cave?

AHA! I neither have the CUP, nor the BLOODY GLOVE in my inventory at this point, and there was no mention of EITHER of these items in the WT, Mag. Everything else you have mentioned I have done successfully. where would I find those missing items?. Just to remind you, at this point I can not enter the Exorcist's office. Looks like I will have to have those two missing items in my inventory in order to proceed.

Sanford ... make certain you use the camera on Erich Zann, the orb and the "unusual spot" in room 101. I went back to my walkthrough, and I'm not certain I put that in the walkthrough. Once you speak with Winston Smith, he tells you he is afraid of room 101 .. that will trigger the "UNUSUAL SPOT" underneath the table under the window. You also try to film the clown and film the monster and the scary woman behind the walls. Please let me know if this gets you to the Excorcist's office. I'm sorry if I didn't specify filming the unusual place.

Hi Sandy,

Sorry - the bloody glove is in the next part of the game outside the asylum.
There are 2 inventory that can be picked up at the asylum that seems to have no use.
I'm not sure if you need the plastic cup in room 209 by the right leg of the table.
There's a can in 308 the one with the one with no wall. I think this is the response to the note that states - pick up useful clue. If you right click the can - it is described as useful.

wave bootskitty!

FINALLY,
i went back to Room 101 and filmed the "unusual spot", then went back to the exorcist's office, and this time it worked. I got the cutscene, and now OZ is in the woods. So the "missing link" here IS the interaction done in Room 101.
Thank you so much Judy and Mag. I just added this part to my printed walkthrough. Oz is now moving into uncharted territory. LOL

YAY!
I just finished playing this game. Without Judy's great WT, I could never have done it. Thank YOU, Judy, and thank YOU, Mag, for posting it. My point score was 81 out of 100, but as soon as I can I will replay the game to try and "hit the jackpot" of 100. Right now, I'm on to my next game, probably "The Last Dream". I have so many unfinished games on my computer. My problem is that I don't finish a game that I'm playing. When I get a new one, I start THAT one, and then buy another and the game icons add up on my desktop screen. WELL, that should be the worst of my problems. LOL
Happy Gaming, fellow Boomers!
Sandy
