I believe it is the second or maybe the third trip to one of the lit platform (can't remember which one); you will see a clown popup from a hole. It is supposed to be a mustache but is the viola string.

Did you find the bow already? sleep

What is a lit platform? The only area I've seen that has any light is the room with the blown out wall. I found an empty cup there.
I also found an empty tin can. I have NO idea what either of those things can do for me. The things I REALLY NEED I can't find. Wow this game is frustrating. I like in-game hints that really help.

bootskitty,
Have you been through the trap door yet and did some stuff at the cave?
If so, I'm not sure if my game hiccupped because I went to the exorcist's office after the cave and started a whole new "world" outside of the asylum. That is where I got sort of down about this game.

Sandy,
If you're playing the game - please ask questions. I might not continue with this game.

MaG ... good grief you are SO FAR ahead of me it isn't even funny. How do you do it? Trap door? Cave? I haven't gotten ANYWHERE beyond filming 3 ghosts (Winston, Eric and "the special place" in room 101. I know I need 6 to continue. I need the keypad code .. I need to film more ghosts .. I need to MOVE beyond going to the same rooms on the same 3 floors over and over and over again. If you can get me to the trap door (cave?) I would be SO APPRECIATIVE. I just want to get SOMEWHERE beyond those dark, dreary rooms in the asylum!

I didn't even film Winston - I think. Just Eric and the one in 101. Then later the one at the cave.
You might need 6 to end the game but - right now - go ahead and do the keypad code, cave, go to exorcist office and do some weird gaming.
- keypad code - talk to Eric after seeing what is written on the viola. He will mention the # used by the Nazi doctors to mess with patients.
- do the keypad.
- do the cave.
- go to exorcist office.

I finished that weird place and left the game after I arrived in purgatory. I need to refresh myself. Hahahahaha.

------------------
Wait, I did interact with ghosts - 101, Winston, Eric, clown, Fjord and the one at the cave.
Maybe seeing is enough and not necessarily film them.

Unfortunately, I talked to Erich after I looked at the viola, but if he mentioned a number, I don't remember. I see 432 on the viola, but that number doesn't work on the keypad. Now when I try to talk to Erich, he just says he's going to play the viola; I can't get any nazi conversation from him. Can you give me a keypad number to try?

See if you can check the viola again - then talk to Eric.

If not:
Click to reveal..
Eric talks that the Nazis play music at 440 mHz to the patients. He plays at 432 and also mentions learning the 8th ??note?? - can't remember now.

Thanks for the keypad hint. It worked. Unfortunately, now I'm just wandering around first the cave and now the paths. The more I accomplish, the less I accomplish ... huh?

As a hint for the paths:
- do the left one - church first.
- then do the Victorian house.
- check the collapsed bridge and anything there.
- concentrate on doll house.
- check all the rooms several times. They change. Irritated me a bit.

Thanks for these hints, Mag.
So far I've been to every UN-LOCKED room in the house, found everything I could about EVERYTHING, and I'm trying to "exit" to a new location, but the game won't let me. Apparently I'm missing something, but I have no idea what that or those are. Maybe somebody can give me a little "push" in the right direction? I will, at this point, revisit every room, and maybe I'll be able to find "stuff" that I missed before. Right now I have a lot of things in my inventory.but surely I've missed "stuff" along the way. I'm sorry that you are not very "enamored" with this game. The only reason that I am continuing playing it is because I'm Tenacious------ ok the word should be "stubborn". LOL

Sandy,

Hints:
- whenever you enter a room - use the meter on OZ. It will tell you if there is something in that room.
- there is a room on the first floor (can't remember which one) that states it is locked but you can enter. Check that one also.
- there are notes in several room (I think 3) that will trigger actions.
---- one in kitchen, one in mirror room, geez - can't remember the third. (That's what happens when I don't take notes and just try to get it over with).
- talk to all characters that you can several times - dialogue gets added.
- be sure to check all floors including the basement.

I'm in the dollhouse and have found a stone rod that I can put into the slot (hole) in the door with the stairs that lead nowhere.
I now, it seems, need to make sense of the letters .. co gi er um to go I think. Nothing seems to make sense. Any ideas here? So far the church is off limits; I'm not crazy enough, apparently, to go through the door in the house, and the bridge has collapsed. I can only interact with the dollhouse. I have a gift box I can't open, a floppy disk, a cassette and one or two other things as I lost all of my inventory when arriving on the "paths". This is one crazy game!

This hint forum is the absolute only place I've found anything at all on Oz Orwell-2. This is just such an amazing, and helpful, site for adventure games.

Thanks. Glad we can help you.

Stone rod: You got the clue twice in the game - one that I can pinpoint is at that stack of books in a room with radio, stove, sink, bed etc..
It is the Latin - I think therefore I am. Cogito ergo sum.
Gift box - I didn't have problem opening that one. Maybe right click it in inventory.
The cassette and floppy disk is for after you exit this place.
I have stopped playing. So you might be ahead of me soon.

I FINISHED THE GAME. Thank you so very much for your helpful hints. They were exactly what I needed. The most deceiving part of the game is this ... most of the inventory items found are never used. I actually liked the game, but it was just way too dark; even with the gamma turned up, it was almost impossible to see much. Gameboomers, as always, is just the best resource for adventure games on the internet.

I can't believe I'm doing this and asking this ... I'm playing the game again and tossed my notes like an idiot. I cannot find the place where I found the note that refers to the "bump in the wallpaper" and I must find that to continue. Does anyone remember the location?

Is that the one in the chest under Madame Blavatsky's portrait?

Do you want to take notes now, send it to me and I can formulate it to a walkthrough? grin

thanks, Mag, for telling me about the meter. I'm going to run through the house again and pick up that key which will open the basement door. Moving along now, thanks to YOU.

Sandy,

After you check basement out:
- talk to Randolph completely.
- get all 3 notes and follow through the clues stated.
- use camera on all ghosts you see (I found not necessary but must talk or interact to all of them).
- talk to clown completely.
- talk to Eric with the viola.

Turns out, it is a note found in the kitchen ... almost impossible to find .. I could definitely NOT SEE IT. I played the entire game again; this time, much quicker, after I found the note about the wallpaper. Very dark and strange game, but fascinating to me nevertheless.

Thanks for these additional hints, Mag. This is where I am now: I found the key in the clown's room after talking to him. I opened the door with the key in the basement, and I used the doll on the pedestal in the doll house room. I also saw "the little girl" after using the doll on the pedestal. I have talked to the "manager" in the room next to the "Exorcist" room. Also talked to the clown again a few more times.I have all 3 notes in my inventory. Now I'm stumped. I can use some additional help from anybody who has been playing this "weird" game, or has already finished it.
Sandy

bTW, I can't read the 3 notes that are in my inventory. Tried to right click on them, but that didn't work. I've forgotten the words that are written on them in order to get some clues. (SIGHS!!!)
