I only recently started to play this game and got off to a very awkward start, but, thanks to MaG, I now have a much better idea of the controls

I have to say, however, I am very unhappy with the "save" system

I absolutely dislike not being able to save manually.
It can lead to having to re-play sometimes long-ish sections of the game before being able to get up and carry on with the story !!

Apart from that, though, I must confess I am enjoying myself

I agree Mad. I have little grandchildren in the house and that awful and excessive (to my mind) bad language limits the time I can play the game. I don't like it anyway, and turn off the speakers at those parts. The subtitles are enough.

Hi Anna I hope you can clarify some thing for me. I have on my game shelf The Longest Journey (2 CDs) and Dreamfall The Longest Journey (1 Cd) What is this "Dreamfall final chapter". It looks like I will have to buy theses games again on Steam to refresh my memory as I cant play them on my laptop. It is years since these two games were out.

Hi I was wondering if any of you have had any problems playing "The longest Journey "via Steam. I have laptop Windows 10 Some guys on the Steam community complains of it crashing. I would like your thoughts on this before I buy both games.

I'm not sure about Steam -- but you'd have to actually get them to respond to one of your help requests first, and people have vastly different experiences with that.

Just a note of caution as your comment is unclear. Dreamfall Chapters is a completely different game it does not include the first two games. It can be seen as a continuation of Dreamfall to clarify the muddle they created by leaving a million unanswered questions. In my opinion Chapters does not come close to the original and barely is recognizable in relationship to the first. Yes, in Dreamfall Chapters they attempted to close the book on the Longest Journey but they left the door open for yet another tale. There was some talk before Dreamfall Chapters was released they would be telling April's story which they gave only casual reference to in game two. Another loose end left dangling in that game. After the release they went back to a suggestion April's story may yet be told. Who knows what is to come next based upon previous results you can expect it to be in the distant future if at all. You can get DRM free versions of games 1 & 2 from GOG that work on newer systems without any garbage added to them on the cheap.

Thanks oldmariner, You have set me right I was looking at the trailers and I couldn't recognise any of it. that is why I went back to my old cds. and looked at the story line. I will buy from GOG even though their price is higher. No hassle is what I want, just download and away I go LOL
