Check out the game on Indiegogo here.

For those concerned about the HO description, I was told it is not in the sense of a HO game, but rather that inventory items are located in more central locations as opposed to pixel-hunting for them.

Description

Murder and Crime during the Great Depression never looked so good! 'For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls' is a Murder Mystery Adventure game starring sassy and mischievous protagonist Lorna Bains, as she solves the mystery of who killed the local cafe owner Eddie Paparelli and who might be interested in knowing this to get a little more money on the side! Blending classic adventure with elements of the hidden object genre with a focus on observation and comprehension, 'For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls' is the first game of a comedy crime anthology.

History

The Lorna Bains series was originally envisioned in 2013 with the view of making it a long adventure game following classic murder mystery adventure game tropes. A prototype was developed and released for free in early 2014 called “The Coming of Age”. Realizing they wanted to try something more unique and advanced than their original plan, the developers went away from the project to work on several short freeware titles, each with something in mind for the eventual return to the Lorna Bains series. Now is that time.

Features

Multiple gameplay solutions that players can choose to cater to their tastes.

A large cast of vibrant characters filled with delicious intrigue and clues.

Combines classic point-and-click adventure with modern hidden object stylized gameplay with a touch of vintage edutainment.

A choice to keep the protagonist on the straight and narrow by earning money legitimately or head into shadier territories by using family connections to organized crime.

A somewhat morbid sense of humour balanced with lighthearted snark.

Happy Gaming!
