Check if the Murder on the Orient Express\Saved.Games\ folder is in My Document or in the installed game folder (maybe program files).

I'm sorry to hear that. Hope things turn to a better situation.

Is your OS - win7?
Try:
- C:\Users\your computer's name\Documents folder. See if Murder on the Orient Express folder is in there.
If not check:
C:\Program Files (x86). See if Murder on the Orient Express folder is in there.

luck

albet,

My searches come up with Murder on the Orient Express\Saved.Games\ as the location.

See if the Murder on the Orient Express is under the developer: The Adventure Company or AWE Games.
So a search and see. luck

On my Win7-64 installation, that Saved Games folder is a sub-folder of the main game folder. I only have one saved game, and there are 2 files in that Saved Games folder:

slot0.bmp
slot0.ac2

It looks like I made a mistake on that folder name. It's Saved.Games (with a dot between the 2 words instead of a space). your Saved.Games folder should be in the Murder on the Orient Express folder, which should be in whatever folder you installed the game in. I install all of my games in the D:\Games folder, so the full path to the Saved.Games folder on my computer is D:\Games\Murder on the Orient Express\Saved.Games.

If you're running Win 7 or later, and you have the game installed in the C:\Program Files (x86) folder, it's probably not going to work because Windows won't permit the game to write files anywhere inside the C:\Program Files (x86) folder. You will probably have to uninstall the game and install it in some other folder, like C:\Games for example.

Here's an update.

Since I only had one save, and it was at the very start of the game, I uninstalled it and reinstalled it under C:\Program Files (x86)\The Adventure Company\Murder on the Orient Express, and there was no Saved.Games folder. I was able to save a game, exit and restart the game, and was able to successfully load that saved game. There was still no Saved.Games folder in the installation folder, so I went searching for slot0.ac2 and found it at:

C:\Users\MyUserName\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\The Adventure Company\Murder on the Orient Express\Saved.Games

Perhaps you need to make sure that show hidden files and folders is checked:

How to show hidden files and folders

That could possibly be why you are not seeing appdata.

albet,

Be sure to check Marian's reply above - your folder might be "hidden".

The walkthrough states that the original game needs CD2 to be in the drive to play the whole game.

If you are asked to do check the passengers - do so. If you are not progressing, you might have missed something.
Check again. luck

It's difficult to know which evidence you missed.
Please read the walkthrough and see if you have done the "Evidence" chapter.
Also check your timetable and see what is still not complete.
